Cute, roomy hotel in great location
Fantastic location in the old town, with Plonlein right outside it's doors. Walkable to everything. Great common areas inside hotel. A game room, another living area, a large reception area with couches, another large relaxing area with couches on the second floor. Huge breakfast siting area with views. Room was clean and comfortable. I had a single room and even had a couch in my room. Would definitely stay again

The service was extremely terrible. The receptionist refused to make a phone call to the restaurant rudely as per my request. Hair was found in the bathtub. The bathroom was too small, not enough to accommodate the water basin.

right in the center of town
lovely old hotel right on the edge of the cliff and near the iconic Plonlein building seen in many photos. Room large, nicely decorated. Bathroom good size with a tub. Did not have safe, did have a fan. Parking available which was great. Had a couple of lounge areas for people on the ground floor and a much bigger gathering area on the 1st floor. Breakfast was very good, lots of choice and the view spectacular. I loved that it was in old town.

I loved that it was in a historical building with all those kinds of quirks. Felt more upscale than the usual bland modern hotels I stay in. Super convenient for walking the cobblestone streets and accessing the town wall walks! And the breakfast was superb (delicious and lots of variety!) and the breakfast room was fancy and had amazing views of the valley from the many windows.

Perfect Location, Breakfast, and Easy Parking
I absolutely recommend Goldener Hirsch for your stay in Rothenburg ob der Tauber. The parking alone is a huge bonus in a town with narrow roads and limited space. The parking is just up the road, 3 min walk, and (at the time of this review) is 11€. Worth it! The rooms are nice and comfortable, and fairly large for a European hotel. There is no A/C, and they have bats at night, so you can’t leave the windows open to cool things off. There is a small fan in the room, which helped, and the bats would be an issue wherever you stay in town. There is a great breakfast buffet in the morning. The hotel also has many lovely sitting areas, a game room with a pool table, and an elevator.

This property is in an iconic and ideal location in Rothenburg and is a fantastic base for visiting the city. It was surprising how quiet it was given how many guests were staying there. The nearby parking facility was adequate but a little cramped. Definitely recommend arriving earlier than later to secure a spot. Breakfast service is excellent. Not all rooms have air conditioning and we visited during an exceptionally hot period, but opening windows overnights kept the room reasonable. Definitely recommend this property!
