You can tell the resort is a little run down, when requested for room cleaning, they didn't give us new towels, they just hung up the ones we put on the ground to be replaced, they rose petals and sand was swept under the bed, the jacuzzi had to be called in to work. If you want a private resort, this is great. Food is alright, but it's not amazing.

Everything about this resort is awesome. I spoke with concierge via email and she helped me celebrate my husband's birthday. We had balloons, cake,fruit ,champagne. The cleaning of the room was excellent-they really work hard.Not only was my junior swim up suite spotless ,they also decorated with the towels and flowers. One day after a fantastic romantic beach dinner we came to our room to find the jacuzzi setup for us with bubbles. Every Employee we encounter said hello and was super Friendly.

The resort was beautiful. Had a few negatives in my room like hot water not working properly and didn't like the excellence liquor package I paid for that wasn't exclusive at every bar. However the resort was very nice and staff was great.

Beautiful (even if the food/drinks are pretty bad)
Beautiful property with friendly staff, we had a beachfront swim out honeymoon suite and I would highly recommend it. We did see the reviews about food/drinks being subpar and that was the only flaw in the place. Drinks especially just were horrible. Our preference was Lobster House for breakfast/lunch and Basmati was good. Chill vibe, not loud, which is is what we were looking for. Rooms toward the front of the resort are really close to the evening music which is pretty loud, if you're sensitive to that, try to get a room farther back. There are a lot of people walking around trying to see excursions, massages, etc., but they are respectful and don't pester, and generally won't approach if you're looking away, but it's a steady stream. If food/drinks are your prime reason for choosing a resort, I would go somewhere else, but for us, it wasn't enough to skew our relaxation and appreciation of the beauty of the beach and resort overall.

Wow!! Amazing place and worth every second! My fiancé and I did a thorough research of all resorts and read reviews, and we are so happy that we chose Excellence. Here are a couple of hints to help you make your decision and book the trip: -the food is amazing! Make sure to pay for the Excellence package to be able to get into the Magna restaurant. The Excellence package is 100 percent worth it. -Invest in the room with the private pool (not swim-up pool) these rooms are completely private, away from the crowd and you get your own private pool! -bring floaties if you do get your own pool -bring cash and be generous. The staff here is not only amazing and wants to make sure that your stay goes perfect, but they genuinely care about your experience, so tip them!! -pay attention to the dress codes at restaurants so you can bring the right clothing -for those reviews complaining about the staff not being able to understand you…you’re in a foreign country!!! Invest in Duolingo before coming here. Carmen (outside bartender), Valencio, and Kiahira Valdez were so attentive and made our experience extra special by going above and beyond for us. We are so thankful for you and will see you again when we return shortly. We are already planning our next trip with a group of friends because our experience was exceptional. I know you’re probably reading this review and still researching other properties to determine which is the best. Just book this resort!!

Everything was perfect staff cleanliness of room Dining was excellent. Only suggestion is stayed in room 8001 swim up room and there is a building that has bathrooms and would suggest opening it up to be a bar so guest don’t have to walk to the bar near beach under the restaurant.
