The first view, at dusk, was a bit scary. No lights seemed to be on in the hotel and the silhouetter against a cloudly sky was formidable. But inside I found welcome and warmth. The front desk staff was helpful and everything inside and out seemed well tended. I would like to point out that the person responsible for housekeeping in my rooom was lovely. When she learned that I had been sick, she helped with cleanup and was very solicitous.
-bathrooms are cold, when you get out of the shower, the room is very chilly
- showerhead points inward toward the wall, so you aren't feeling the full faucet. I believe its this way because the shower pan is too low and the faucet would flood the room otherwise
- bathroom light on either side of the mirror is extremely harsh and its difficult to see yourself
- soap dish is mounted right where a person would stand. So you have a choice - either hit the dish or leak the shower.
- the instructions for the tv specify using the 'OK' button, of which there was none. It should be updated.
- the all-day coffee near the front desk is a lovely idea. The milk furnished for it should be an unflavored milk product that is shelf stable (and it does come in creamer sized)
- The bar should be offering glug (mulled wine) or something along those lines for the holidays
- the food quality in the continental breakfast is well below par for a hotel at this price point. The quantity of choices is fine, but the quality is lacking.
