Not worth the price
The hotel was on Canal street, exactly where I wanted to be. The quality, however was not worth the price per night. No desk service before 10am. Pay all your hotel fees upfront on your app, if you have to give your card, lock it immediately after. My credit card was used fraudulently. No breakfast, or complimentary coffee or water. Very small. The sheets were not changed. I will not book this $250 per night again.

In poor condition, but not unsafe or uncomfortable
I needed a cheap place to stay in NYC and this was just about the only option under $300 that didn't have shared bathrooms (and even some of the shared bathroom options were over $300). The hotel itself is in pretty bad condition -- lots of furniture in need of replacement -- but the bed itself was clean and very comfortable. Hotel did not feel unsafe. Many rooms face Canal St. so definitely pack ear plugs.

Okay Stay
Friendly staff with easy check in. Expect tax and service charges when you check in. They store luggages but you basically leave it at front desk by elevators and rely on camera for the safety of your luggages. Staff stays at front desk but not all the time. Amenities are provided but I suggest you bring your own. Not a quiet neighbourhood but it’s NY. Booked for relatively cheap price and given that it is NY, my stay was as expected.

Great budget property in the heart of Chinatown. Bustling neighborhood with lots of life! Our view overlooked Canal St and the windows really did against street noise. You can hear neighbors in the hallway, though not a big deal for us. Clean accommodations with modest amenities, but the ac worked really well, there’s storage and a mini fridge, and the rooms are very spacious for downtown. Staff was very helpful and hospitable. Free wifi and security code to enter building for off-hours.

Terrible. No toilet seat and whole place gross
This was a terrible experience at a hotel I’ve stayed at before, but it’s never been like this. No seat on the toilet the bathroom. Broken toilet paper holder. The deadbolt was broken on the door. No body wash in the dispenser and weird stains all over the walls. This was a nightmare. I let the desk clerk know and he said maybe we can move you tomorrow but it was only a one day stay. Huge stacks of unopened mail by the door. What’s up with this place? No one at the desk in the am. No one to accept my key or to complain to. Never again.
Missing toilet seat
Unsafe room, no deadbolt.
Why are there stacks of mail?
Dusty and empty soap

Worn-down and creepy
upon arrival, the room had just been cleaned and it smelled pretty musty. That seemed to have aired out eventually. But the room was worn-the headboard was ripped and the carpet was old. Shower worked fine, but they only had liquid soap dispensers, no bar soap-and it didn’t dispense well. Lobby was dark and lined with suitcases, so we did not leave our luggage there on our last day, which was inconvenient. When we left, no one was at the front desk, so anyone could come in and the elevator did not require a key.

Chose the hotel for cost and location...in that respect you get what you pay for,the room was tidy and spacious with a good working shower and bathroom. There were hairs in the bed however and stains on the sheets and to agree with many reviews here, the 2 receptionists we met were just cold and unwelcoming offering little more than a short answer...There was also a fee to pay on arrival, the usual U.S tax and percentage but at $96 for the 2 of us I couldnt work out if it was truly correct...many people here say not but it was certainty not a refundable deposit like some folk think... Overall...The stay was quiet and comfortable with local food choices and Subways close...so my daughter and I did Manhattan and Brooklyn in 3 days easily...We did however feel a little cautuous as there was no safe to leave valuables and bags were just left in the lobby after checkout...we took a rucksack wih valuables out with us and didnt leave bags....the reviews here make it a hard hotel to judge so we were cautious and would perhaps not recommend unless we came again and felt less edgy....in anycase a holiday is what you make it and we had a blast, slept well and did loads....tread with caution but dont be afraid.
