Amazing. Marion us a fantastic host. Charming house, great theme and a wonderful breakfast. Everything was " just right". Highly recommed. If you are a road warrior (not unlikely if you are visiting Ajax) its like being at home witb family.

The owner was over the roof accomodating and didn't leave any details out! From fresh flowers as you walk in to a basket of slippers to wear if you wanted to. The breakfast was a full 5 course meal and she even make oatmeal taste wonderful. I recommend this to anyone wanting to explore the Toronto area since the train stop is a block away!

Our stay at the Tartan House B & B was exceptional from start to finish. Marion was extremely accommodating of our check-in needs and welcomed us warmly to her charming property. The B & B is beautifully appointed and the suite we stayed in was spotless and contained everything we could have hoped for. The bed was huge, comfortable, and covered in pillows. We really appreciated the guest lounge and wall of tea, along with the complimentary drinks and snacks in our room. The icing on the cake of our stay was that Marion went above and beyond to make us a picnic breakfast when she learned we had to leave early in the morning. It was DELICIOUS and so very appreciated. Book this place. You won’t be disappointed.

Phenomenal Stay
My husband and I were searching for accommodations for a day out in Durham and I am so glad that we were directed to The Tartan House! Our New Years Eve Watchnight Service ended around 1:30am, but when I called Marion the night before to find out if this was alright she was so accommodating. Of course, checking in before the service would've been great, but she let me know that we had an alternative option. We were downstairs in the King Bed suite (I believe). Though the washroom was shared it did not negatively impact our stay at all. Privacy was very much maintained, with a beyond comfy bed and spotless sheets. The complimentary snacks were perfecting for my late night munching. Breakfast! Astounding! Every course was prepared with love, and I know this is what sets The Tartan House apart from other B&Bs. They also host Private Breakfasts, High Teas, Dinner Parties with a guest library that can be reserved. Gift Cards are also available. I can't wait to be back. Thank you Marion and Anne for being such a blessing!
