Nice hotel, okay breakfast, clean, nice pool, friendly staff. Only negative to think of was €16 in parking costs, which I didn’t know or missed ahead of time.

Good stay with great pool
Hotel is located in peaceful area. Bus stops right outside and not far to walk to underground. Room was good. Pool was really good. Bar and restaurant were fine with big screen showing football. Food and drink items at reception were expensive.

Very friendly and helpful staff at reception and the bistro. A lift green around the buildings. Not far from the motorway yet it was quiet. Easy to reach various parts of the town.

It is a large and old hotel. Everything is mega here. In relation to the price and the distance from Messe Essen it is OK but is was warm and it smells old through the hotel. Very hard bed and no normal pillow.

Free safes at reception
Last week when I stayed I commented that there was no room safe. I said this to the receptionist who informed me that there were individual safes at reception at no cost. Simple form to complete. Placed items into safe container, and handed the key.

Do not recommend
The room smelled of mildew so strongly. It was disgusting. When I complained the staff were defensive, saying it was just remodeled. The hallways were dirty. The room was clean, but clearly damp. We were on the ground floor. The doors also didn’t lock properly. We came back after being out for the day to find we could just walk into our room without a key. Luckily nothing was stolen.

The property was pretty nice but the pillows were absolutely horrible. The mini fridge also had been left open and defrosted so it looked very dirty inside. The walls were thin so I was able to hear another guest snoring in another room and lastly there was 2 hairs in the shower that made it feel not very clean.

Zimmer sind OK, aber Pool zu kalt...Sauna war lebensrettend, aber ich wollte eigentlich schwimmen, was gar nicht ging...bin nicht zart besaited, aber das war wirklich unzumutbar. Hatte das Hotel wegen des Schwimmbad Bildes ausgesucht. Es würde mich freuen, wenn sich das Hotel meldet und mir eine Teilrückzahlung anbietet, denn das war echt schlimm. Alles andere, auch Restaurant, war gute und lecker.

Die Rezeption war nicht kompetent. Für den check in haben wir fast eine Stunde gebraucht, obwohl wir die einzigen Gäste waren und es sehr sehr eilig hatten. Das ist keine gute Visitenkarte für ein Hotel.
