LYRIC | Pittsburgh Boutique Suites

First off, the room was beautiful and the bed was comfortable but I couldn't find usual channels on the TV and could not get the coffee grinder to work in a 5 step production of making coffee. They had snacks out which was nice. I enjoyed my brief stay and slept great. Had I known that the apartment was in the old, beautiful Pennsylvania Station, I would not have had to walk up and down the streets in the rain trying to find it. No one had heard of Lyric. As far as check in goes, it was almost non-existent. A lady had to go find someone to help me as I stood outside. Once the manager (or whoever) came, she checked my ID, pointed me to the elevators and said "You are on the second floor, there should be door fobs in the room", then left. That was it--the most non-friendly, unhelpful person I met in Pittsburgh, including bus drivers, people on the street, and the concierge from another hotel who tried to help me. Also, be aware of the "Service Fee" tacked on to your room cost. The lovely room was $69.00 but the service fee was $90 which I didn't realize until after I got my confirmation. This was only after I had to provide personal info for a criminal back ground check. I tried to cancel it when I saw the service fee but could not as it was non-refundable. I bet if I failed the background check, they would have cancelled it on me. Just be careful if you are not booking an actual hotel room as there are hidden fees that are not published in the description.

Great stay! The suite was modern, clean, had great amenities. There is wifi, a nice gym, parking. The room includes a kitchen, living room, eating area.

The apartment is huge. Certainly not like a hotel room. Full kitchen, nice bathroom, even a washer and dryer. I was in town for a convention and just needed a place to sleep. This place exceeded my expectations. The building has a full time conceirge. Very secure feeling. Beautiful building. Very close to convention center. When I first arrived, the code I was provided didn’t work. It took a few minutes on the phone with Lyric customer service for them to change the code and get me in the apartment. They were very nice and helpful. No complaints other than the bathroom fan not working and the tub not draining well.
