Very friendly, helpful front desk staff. The room was sufficient for our family of 5. It was not updated but still mostly clean. The beds were terribly uncomfortable though, it was almost like there was a hole in the mattress. Good location, part way between Luray and Shenandoah national forest.

I don’t understand how they can be on Hotel.com and not take a Hotel.com gift card. That was really upsetting. The shower faucet dripped all three nights we stayed.

A cute cottage feel with a view
We had a good experience here! Arrived and slept well, it was a cute little cottage type motel with a great view! The folks running it were super nice and friendly. My kids loved it and it felt very comfortable! We would stay again.

Tiny but adequate
Hillside Inn is tiny but adequate for a one-night stay. The mattress was comfortable. Appearance of room was tired, very small room, but the squeezed a mini fridge, mini coffee maker, adequate electrical outlets and even a rod to hang clothing into it. Everything on one floor, but you do have to climb 3-4 steps to get into the room.

Nice little place to stay
My husband and I took a weekend trip to Luray. The Hillside Motel was a nice place to stay. It was close to Luray Caverns and some other places we wanted to visit. The employee that checked us in, Samantha, was very friendly and helpful! The rooms were standard and very clean. The decor is outdated and it could use some upgrading but it is obvious they take care in the motel. I would have no issues staying here again.

I spent 3 nights at this property for a hiking weekend. I really enjoyed my stay especially because of the staff. The room was old but clean and the fridge and microwave were well used. The views from the hotel were beautiful. The only annoyance was the wifi. I had to walk to the middle of the parking lot to get a signal to check my email. No big deal

Older motel close to Park
This basic, older motel was clean and mostly in good repair - there was a little peeling paint in the bathroom. Walls are thin, I could clearly hear the neighbors, along with both highway and railroad noise. But it’s a good value and its proximity to Shenandoah National Park is a plus.

Warning: strong perfume smell
This is an old-fashioned type motel in quiet and beautiful setting. The bed was comfortable. We were primarily hiking in the national park during the day so the most important thing was being able to sleep well.
On the downside, the floors were filthy as evidenced by the bottom of our socks that turned dark gray from walking across the floor. The shower curtain bar was rusty. The shower dripped and the toilet ran most of the time. Attempts to stop both were unsuccessful. Most bothersome though was the product that was used on the bathroom floor before our arrival. It had a strong perfume smell that lingered through our 4 day stay despite having the windows and door open with the fan running to try to clear it. The product seemed to be a floor wax as the bathroom floor was extremely slippery when we arrived.
