Overall "A" but not an "A+" - see below
Love the location (so convenient - basically the entire city is walkable!), the history, the beautiful look, nice sized room and everything else, except for a few quibbles: 1) Cafe Du Parc advertised as being open for breakfast all day, but when we went Monday btwn 10:30 and 11 am, they were not serving outside, where we wanted to sit and people-watch - and we were told it was take-out only. So we went to Marriott for a perfectly acceptable breakfast that day before venturing on our museum/monument walking tour; 2) the housekeeping staff knocks on the door way too quietly and way too early, but also does not announce "housekeeping" in a loud, clear voice, like every other hotel I've ever stayed in - that should change, as several mornings my wife had met a friend alone for a quick coffee before they had to go to work and I wasn't sure if it was her or housekeeping at the door; and 3) you leave complimentary water bottles, but there is no room in the mini-bar fridge for them, so we removed a bottle of beer to chill our water - at check-out they tried to charge me, even tho of course the unopened beer was replaced - they removed the charge, but that's kinda' silly - there should either be a separate fridge or sufficient room in the "mini-bar" fridge for the complimentary water; and last but not least, 4) the food at the Occidental was simply unworthy of a hotel of your quality and distinction. The Hamilton across the street and POV at the W were both far, far better.
