Boy were we surprised when we showed up and had to check in in the middle of a restaurant. Then walk through the staff bar area up 2 flights of narrow stairs only to find there was not a bathroom in the room. It was not mentioned on Expedia that there were only shared bathroom and shower facilities for all the rooms! The room was very small and you could hear lots of noise like furniture being moved around. The breakfast did not start till 7:30 which is late for travelers needing to get on the road. The breakfast itself was ok, but not as much variety like eggs & bacon or croissants like the other places we stayed. However, we did not leave hungry. I would call this more of a Hostel than a hotel.

We loved our stay here. The staff was fantastic and the food was incredible. Yes, the hotel itself is a little outdated but that’s part of its charm. I was a little taken aback at first but thoroughly enjoyed myself. Our waitress was phenomenal and the host/owner was very helpful and anxious to make your stay pleasurable. The scenery was beautiful. Would absolutely stay here again.

If you're curious about what a basic hotel was like a century ago, this is the place. It has all the charm: squeaky and shaky floors and doors, one toilet and one shower at the end of the corridor for all occupants, no soap dispenser in the shower, stained bed sheets. If not, look elsewhere.
