The breakfast is good, offering both continental and hearty English options. There's a kettle and coffee/tea in the room, along with some snacks at the front desk. The rooms are spacious, with attention to those with limited mobility. The cleanliness is very good, with nice linens and amenities. The hotel is conveniently located near the train station. There's a stop near the philharmonic, but you can actually walk there as well. The parting gift was highly appreciated!

Not the best hotel in Essen! No gym...
Unfriendly front desk staff, the room was smaller than booked and had a smell, the complaint was not appreciated so the customer is not right at that hotel... Breakfast was nice and the restaurant staff were nice. Dont stay there if you need a gyn because it is not a real gym - a wooden building in the hotel back garden, and the 2 machines there dont work. There was no communication about ther out of service machines at check-in, 4 star hotel? I have never left a review for a hotel but i felt obliged to do so this time.
