Solid Choice
A pretty good hotel to stay at in the Gettysburg area. It benefits from being relatively new, so nothing inside feels dated or dilapidated. They sell you hard on their "sky breakfast" on the top floor of the hotel (the wifi password even alluded to it). I don't know, unless this was actually 1863, I don't know that three stories up could be mistaken for "in the sky", but its fine. Nothing about the breakfast itself was spectacular. The room was clean with your standard level of chain-hotel comfort (nothing to write home about). Same goes for the bathroom and shower although the standard-issue hotel shower tub is spruced up here by some nice fixtures. Where the room loses big points is with its access to the bathroom. An oversized door sweeps into an undersized bathroom, leaving guests to play human tetris in order to get out. The amenities are nice as well. They have a commissary type store to get whatever you need (for a markup, of course), and the pool is fine, though bottoming out at 4 feet is a bit underwhelming. All in all, though, it's a hotel with its shirt tucked in tight and looking sharp. You could do worse in the area.

Perfect for me!
I chose the Best Western Gettysburg because I knew it is a fairly new Hotel. We loved it! The room was very clean, and the beds so comfy! Most of the staff were very cordial and always had a pleasant greeting. We did have a miss communication about breakfast (of all things, lol) The hotel even goes above what I have experienced in others, and offers its guests real entertainment that you and your family can enjoy together. There isn't a bar in the hotel! Oh and you are literally just down the road from the battlefields, The Dyorama is two blocks away, the Friend to Friend monument is maybe four blocks, certain bus tours will pick you up AT THE HOTEL! and my personal favorite, the carriage tours are right next door. After spending a day in the hot hot sun, arm to arm with people... I LOVED that the hotel was just a little outside of town and that it has an indoor pool! Another thing I found I liked is to the one side you have a Friendlys, a McDonald, a KFC, and a buffet (yes all walking distance) and to the other side you have the higher end, theme taverns and/or restaurants. A perfect blend! I highly recommend the Best Western Gettysburg to everyone! It literally is the perfect location for the best possible trip!!

No frills hotel.
Overall it was a good experience. The things that bothered us are the fact that the pool is wide open to street traffic being able to see right in. Privacy would be great. Our room had a view of a wall. I don’t understand why that wall was up. If it weren’t there we would have had a lovely view of the battlefields and cemetery. Also there was not a fan in the bathroom. After a hot shower the mirror was so fogged up we had to use the hairdryer to see in the mirror. Also the refrigerator had been unplugged and was warm when we arrived. The coffee maker did not work and there was an empty roll of toilet tissue left on the holder. We at least expect a hotel to be as good as what we have at home or better. Small things but they mean a lot to us. I made the arrangements for all 3 couples so I felt bad when I heard their complaints as well as our own.

Driving Through Gettysburg
Great stay. Walking distance to a lot of stuff. Fresh new hotel. Staff was friendly and helpful. Our only gripe was that we had room 124 - which was a handicap accessible room - which that in of itself was not a problem. What was a problem is that it was right off the lobby, so occasionally the noise was a bit loud. If you are an early sleeper, or a light sleeper, this might be a problem. I am neither, so no worries on my part. But I could see it being a problem for others. Otherwise it was reasonably priced, and filled the bill nicely. Two buildings down is a brew pub/restaurant. Very walkable. Food was decent, safe, but nothing of note.

Excellent Hotel in Downtown Gettysburg
Excellent hotel in an excellent location. The front desk was courteous and efficient. The room was wonderful. It was very clean and modern with very comfortable beds and pillows. The fridge and microwave were in their own section with extra cabinets for any food you might bring along. There was plenty of room for clothes--a good sized closet and a bureau and a desk and chair. An extra chair and footstool added more comfort. The tv had DirecTV which was nice and the bathroom was clean and well-designed. There is an indoor pool and fitness center, but I didn't use. The breakfast was a mix of hot and cold options with fresh baked pastries and make-your-own options for waffles and pancakes. Fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, and juice, tea, and coffee options. Overall, one of the best hotel stays I've had in awhile and I would highly recommend to anyone. I'm definitely going back!
