Great boutique hotel

Great location but not worth the premium price
Lovely location but the rooms are not clean and a bit neglected. Filthy carpets, loose shelves in wardrobe, toe nails on the window sil and desk and the bathroom did not feel clean. Receptionist was also very rude upon check in.

I last stayed at 42 The Calls over 20 years ago, in that time it has aged well, a little tired, but then so am I!!! It has not lost any of its character, great service and the area around has grown and added to the overall experience. I understand they may be about to have a 'make-over', hopefully they retain the character and service! I look forward to my nest visit, hopefully sooner rather than later and well before another 20 years!!!

City hotel
The reception staff are very fiekbfjtbabd helpful. However the rooms are teallly dated and grubby looking. They are in real need of a refurbishment. I would not stay here again unless it was updated.

Quirky, dated, and told not to drink the water!
Quirky hotel with decor preserved from the early nineties. When guided to the room we were told don't drink the water we'll provide you with free bottles, but for two of us only left one. They have a cupboard where the room service can be left without disturbing you, but then knock on the door to tell you they've left it. Heating was full on on a warm September weekend, complementary wi-fi was glacially slow. But the bed was comfy, location is great and quiet, and the staff were very happy to help.
