4/10 Fair

We arrived at the Scandic Seilet on an unusually warm day. The property had no air conditioning and they had left the drapes wide open so that the view was displayed in entry, however leaving the drapes wide open had made the room unbelievably hot. We changed rooms and experienced the same issue. There had been a fan in the previous room so we grabbed that, closed the drapes and the room eventually cooled slightly, but was never an ideal temperature. The staff at the front desk were nice, but very seemed inexperienced. When asked about taking the ferry to Alesund the next day (Sunday), they said the drive to the ferry was 4-5 minutes and failed to mention that there is a market on Sundays that blocks the roads one takes to the ferry and that the drive was more like 10-12 minutes. We left with extra time but missed the ferry by 30 seconds and had to wait a half hour for the next one. It was highly frustrating.

The Scandic Seilet is a convention hotel. It was fine for a night. We like that we had access to a gym which was nice fully equipted physio location. Couldn't figure out how to have electricity on in room and all the lights out so my husband could use C-Pap machine. Could have asked but it was late.

This is a beautiful, modern building that in my opinion goes well with the surrounding area of enormous natural beauty. We were lucky to get a room in a high floor with akazing views of the water and mountain range. The room itself was comfortable, clean and well equipped. The breakfast had a wide selection of quality food. We used the paid parking conveniently located behind the main hotel building.

This is a beautiful property in lovely Molde. The hotel has very nice views and a convenient location. There is a spa and fitness facility next door with pools. The staff are very welcoming and quite fluent in English. We will return again and look forward to it.

Arrived late but greeted with kindness. The young lady at the counter advised me that parking past 8am needed a parking fee and she came clear outside to help me purchase the parking pass! So incredibly nice! We were exhausted and slept well with our door open to the water. The view was stunning. Thank you

Convenient location. Wonderful view. Comfortable clean room. Friendly staff. Excellent breakfast. All good. Only thing to note is that we didn’t understand where to park at first - a public lot, which was confusing initially as there was a big football match at the stadium next door. But check.in, they advised tha it was free until 8 am so all good.

Unpleasant experience
Please advise foreign travelers to pay the parking fee upfront or they will get a parking fine . When we arrived the hotel, the staff told us no need to pay after 17:00, but not memtion to pay at 8 oclock in the morning the next day in advance. We double confirmed the staff if we can pay when we depart, the staff said yes. HOWEVER, we received a NOK660 fine at 9:45AM. And then the morning staff said this is the way their city charge (pay upfront), and it is the car owner's responsibility. We have been traveled 14 days so far, none of the cities or downtown parking asked us to pay in advance, they all ask to pay parking fee afterwards. Molde sentrum had the opposite policy. Foreign travelers need to be advised.

Nice property but obviously visited at the wrong time. Elevated was broken. Hotel lounge/bar was not open anytime during the stay.

We stayed one night for our journey to the Atlantic Ocean Road. The lodging was nice and had a lovely view of the fjord. I like the wide variety of tasty breakfast options offered in the morning, especially the juice shots made just that morning. Upon check-in, I was told that parking was free until 8:00 AM the following morning, but the front desk staff neglected to tell me that I either needed to pay before 8:00 AM or remove my vehicle. This was the one negative aspect of the parking situation. As in other Scandinavian nations, I thought I would pay at the exit, but instead I was given a ticket for 660 NOK. When I called the municipal parking Molde enforcement, they firmly informed me that I had to pay the fine because it was the Norwegian law. They don't care about or give North American tourists any thought. I could only pay the fine using the SWIFT bank account information provided on the parking fine ticket because I rented my car from Denmark. They make it too tough for tourists, and parking is typically very expansive and challenging to find throughout Scandinavian countries.

2/10 Poor

Overpriced, paid offsite parking, no AC
I wouldn’t ever stay here again. I stayed here along my road trip throughout Norway. I only booked rooms a couple days ahead of time. I arrived after midnight and was exhausted from hiking and being ln the road all day. There were two gentleman who checked me in and they weren’t that friendly. He explained to that my room was in the old building, it was up stairs, down and halfway and up more stairs. That alone made me want to walk out. I asked if there were any rooms in the new building and he said no. The way he talked to me and his expressions made me feel like I wasn’t good enough to stay there. It’s not even that nice of a hotel to treat people like that. He didn’t mention anything about parking, and on this site, it says self parking, so I assumed I could just park at the hotel. No, he comes out and tells me I can’t park there, which I appreciate but had he told me when I checked in, he could have saved his steps. Between the paid parking and my hotel room, it was a bit of a hike. The room did not have air conditioning as advertised, maybe this lucky enough to stay in the new building, but I was so hot all night and was sweating while trying to get ready in the morning, even with a window open. The bathroom door shut on its own so I had to prop it open and there were stains on the dressers. The old building should be given at a discount for half off. It’s an outrage they sell it for as much as they do. I had better breakfasts in 3 star hotels.

Stunning view, great breakfast
The view from the room was stunning and I'd stay there again just for that. The buffet breakfast was one of the best I've had, great variety incl. fresh croissants, fruit, pancakes. The room was small but clean and fresh-smelling. The parking spaces were too narrow, everyone remarked on that. When I booked, I understood there to be a pool in the hotel, but it is in an adjacent swimming hall - the opening hours were limited and there was a charge to use it, so I didn't swim.
