Incredible value for a nice place and good walkable area of town with good restaurants around and a grocery store very close. The breakfast and evening happy hour were great - would happily stay again

A very nice hotel that is reasonably priced. Great location. Able to walk to most places and close to highway access

Room was very clean. The complimentary glass of wine was a fantastic touch. Best French fries I’ve ever had!!!

We were pleasantly surprised at the lovely room, courteous staff and great location. We don't drink wine, but the wine vouchers were a nice touch. (We gifted them to some other travellers) My only issue was the fireplace worked intermittently and there was not enough counter space in the bathroom. All in all we would stay there the next time we are in Monterey and definitely will recommend the Abrego!

Breakfast was pretty tasty with breakfast burritos one day and biscuits and gravy the next. Had room card deactivated twice in two days but front desk reset. Do not expect early check in before 4;00pm…but it is no secret…as advertised. Overall great stay and we will return!

Always a favorite place to stay. Everything is always just right, and walking to a bakery or restaurant or the waterfront is easy.

Nice Hotel, Staff was welcoming and helpful upon arrival. Great location. The only thing I did not like was the fact I booked a room with a fireplace, and the fireplace did not work. Also, the bathroom had a sewer smell coming up. I did like that the hotel offered free wine tickets, and it was pretty good wine. The hotel bar had great food and drinks!!! Breakfast was good and had a good variety of items to choose from!!!

Everything was wonderful. Beautiful, clean place. Had a luxurious feel to it. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was that if you booked through a 3rd party like Expedia, you will be charged an additional 20.00 for the amenities, which is specifically for the breakfast, parking and the free wine you get (even if they clearly advertise that these are "included" in your booking). Be careful too, because Hotels.com or Expedia will charge a "property fee" of 20.00. If you ask what that is for, they will say it is for the breakfast, parking and the free wine BUT you will get charged an additional 20.00 by the hotel again. I disputed this, and I still haven't received my refund. The hotel itself was a wonderful experience. I am just very very upset with the deception and extra charges, when the ad clearly states the amenities are free. I chose this place over another because of the free breakfast, which is your typical continental breakfast. Little did I know, after checking in I would be charged for it.

Last minute stay in Monterey. Hotel was clean, comfortable and staff were welcoming and helpful. I would rebook with Abrego BUT overall the area is BLAH and touristy, not a place I would revisit.

The pool was shut when we visited and were told it’s u see renovation until a few days. The shower had hot and cold water fluctuations so for a person needing a hot bath, that was a bummer. We were upgraded to a room with fireplace which was nice!

We love this hotel. It's within walking distance to Alvarado Street and other shops/restaurants, the rooms are always clean and a noon checkout time is such a bonus. The staff is always polite and helpful. We've never had a bad stay. The pool was cold this time and the lock is very janky, however My key wouldn't work and neither would the maintenance guy's, but he was great and got the gate open.
