Very good 8.0
a mixed bag...
Good hotel. Showing signs of fatigue in places. All requests on check in had not been noted which after 20 hours travelling isn’t much fun with kids. No need for this failure with a hotel of this standard. Breakfast was pretty good but no fresh orange juice was a real surprise. The feel reason I would never stay here again is that I live in England. The sun doesn’t shine... dep especially in December! The whole place was designed for a pool area that gets 2 hours of sun per day between 9.30-11.30am. And that’s your lot. Guests all fighting for the most sunny spot in vain with their white blue skin and European desperation. It’s madness. We never made it to the special parts on the roof as we had kids that were too young. The locked balconies for the whole hotel was a shame - surely if health and safety was an issue then they should just improve the design. I stayed here 10 years ago... but it’s the last time for us. There are so many more vibey options in Bangkok...

Does not deliver what it promises
Had much higher expectations for the price, star rating and 'marketing' i saw. In reality it is a tired hotel. Wifi was on and off all my trip and my TV also kept stop / starting (due to connectivity as a not-so-smart set) - I was working so wifi particularly was annoying and the only response was 'yes we have had feedback from other guests. we apologise' - they clearly know there is an issue. Hotel design is old and needs a makeover and having even upgraded to Tower Club, was disappointed with the look / feel --- and totally frustrated with the elevator system which was not adequate at all...as that side of hotel linked to all the bars and restaurants. It boasts being the only vertical destination. honestly having been there i have no idea what that means, other than they have a few bars and restaurants on different floors. Poor.

Good 6.0
Expected better
The hotel is ok, but the rooms are a bit outdated. They need a revamp. The staff in the lounge were friendly, but on occasions were moody and service came without that usual Thai smile. However, the lounge has good food and the service is relatively quick. The major issue with the hotel is the lift situation. I waited 10 minutes for a lift down. That’s a long time and not good enough (really). The problem is the hotel has some of the most iconic restaurants and views of BKK, so it’s understandable that the hotel will be busy, but to take it to the next level the lifts should be slicker for hotel guests. Overall a good stay, but I wouldn’t return to this hotel.

Amazing hotel
Amazing hotel, check in easy and exceptional service provided. One thing missing was a cold drink on arrival, we had travelled for 3 hours so a cold drink would have been nice. Room exceeded expectations. All staff were very friendly and knowledgable.
