So this was my third (and longest stay) at The Watermark. I extended my reservation and stayed 11 nights total, and some issues certainly happened. My AC went out at night, and I woke up sweating around 4 am, but I had to wait until maintenance arrived at 11 am to fix the problem. He was super helpful, though, and gave me some hints on how to keep it from going out again-I believe a fuse had blown.
Next, I ended up changing rooms twice; first because I couldn’t check into my old room (it was posted out of order). Once again, I kinda welcomed the opportunity to move to a higher floor, but the higher floor ended up reverberating sounds much more than the lower floor. When I stayed on the 14th floor, it was like I was the only one in the hotel. On 21, I could hear other guests, so lesson learned-stay on 14!
The second room change came because on the last day of my stay, the toilet wouldn’t flush. No one could find the plunger and ended up having to move rooms with hours to spare. Not pleasant at all, to say the least.
I would highly suggest 24-7 maintenance on deck; it’s a new property and quirks do happen. I’ve opened hotels myself, so I’ve experienced this firsthand. Also, Miriam, Jasmine and Kareem remain as pleasant and helpful as ever-and it makes every difficulty bearable. Thank you all so much!
