My advice when travelling in Ponta Delgada if you rent a car get a small car..streets are narrow. You need enough power to do the mountains though. I love it there!

Tight roads and google does not always work properly. We we told roads would continue where they didn't. Be careful driving if you have a rented car, lots of paid parking areas not obvious to tourists.

Ponta Delgada is a cute little town with lots of history. I recommend taking the horse carriage ride!

The staff from the front desk to room cleaners and everyone in between were so friendly and helpful.
Your day starts with an exceptional breakfast spread - I have yet to see a better one in Europe.
The hotel is situated on the marine close by he old town, with plenty of dining options near by.
Ending your day either at rooftop pool or spa - complete with steam and sauna facilities relaxes those muscles after your day exploring the island.

Not a nice area to walk around but the best because very central to visit the island. The property and lot is wonderful. Nice pool. Spa building. Basic but all you need for breakfast is included.
