Poor service & over priced
Poor customer service, check in slow and felt like we were interrupting the staff's day. View from room is a pile of rubbish, literally. Difficult to get access to car. Bathroom supplies ran out and had to request loo roll rather late at night. Overall massively overpriced and poor service. Would not recommend and would not stay again.

Lovely place to stay in Oxford
Great hotel, comfortable rooms, excellent service, superb location.

Disappointing for the cost
Overall we were disappointed, the room was very hot overnight due to the climate control in the room was poor as well as it not being possible to open the window. Additionally, the shower was the worst I’ve encountered in a hotel. It was similar to a trickle coming out of a watering can, absolutely no water pressure and took a long time to get hot. I’ve stayed in most of the Malmaisons and this is one of the most, if not the most expensive but actually was my least favourite.

Disappointed
Staff were lovely, food was good. Position of room was terrible, make sure you are not in the extension above the Slug & Lettuce - balcony right over the outside area, noise until 2.00am then started moving beer barrels at 3.00am! Did mention this on checkout and was given a refund but to be honest our “treat” was spoiled.

Birthday treat
Upgraded on arrival after receiving an email stating that we could at a reduced cost. Stayed in a superior cell room in A wing which is in the main building. The room was spacious and included toiletries, hair dryer, safe, tea/coffee making facilities and bottled water. The bed was one of the most comfortable I have ever stayed in! The bathroom was huge with a roll top bath. We worked our way through the cocktail menu in the hotel bar - great cocktails! The barman was very helpful. Quirky hotel being a converted prison and a lot or features still remained. Would definitely recommend staying here.

Great hotel. Would stay again.
Great location. Many parts of the hotel retained the look of a prison, which we thought was quirky and well done - but may not appeal to everyone. Breakfast was great and service provided by all staff was excellent. Woikdndefintely recommmemd and
