Great hotel staff, poor location
My W Agarve stay in January was largely for quiet relaxation and writing, and in this regard this hotel was OK. The views of the ocean are fantastic from the room and the staff are great. My only reason for not giving a higher rating is the location. This is probably the least walkable area of Portugal I've seen in many trips to this beautiful country. The beach accessed on the property is tiny. There is no walkable beach area near the hotel. There is a sprawling suburb around the hotel and no real area to walk for restaurants or shopping. I'll not return because of the location. Staying in the Algarve again, I will find a place that is more walkable.

Everything about this hotel is exceptional! The service, the comfort, the amenities are incredible, it did not disappoint. The rooms are large, the bed was supper comfortable, even the roll away cot was like a regular bed.The breakfast was incredible, lots of variety and great specialty coffees you can order. Decor of the property is really nice, its ultra modern and fancy. Food at the pool was really average and there were no lifeguards at the pool at all. Generally staff were great and we had a great view of the sunset from our room. Hotel restaurants were very good - food at Paper Moons was a highlight and live singer at Market Kitchen was wonderful. Shuttle bus to local sandy beach was good (it has a nice beach club restaurant) - nice plus point. Gale beach 10 mins down the road was better beach however.
