Excellent hotel, highly recommend.
Return stay. Stayed here many times over the last few years, always a warm and friendly welcome, good service, good food and nice rooms. Also, good for business travellers, breakfast available from 7.30, unlike so many country hotels. The Wheatsheaf is ideally positioned for me to travel out in whatever direction my work takes me.

Short break at the Wheatsheaf.
Had a lovely three night stay at the Wheatsheaf. Michael and Jo were always there and most helpful. Our room (no1) was upstairs and had a large settee in and still lots of space. We ate in the restaurant two nights and the food was delicious.

We had a fantastic stay, the hotel was immaculate, the staff were so friendly and the service and food at both dinner and breakfast was just perfection. Best omelette I’ve ever had! There were some lovely touches in the room, the bottled water and delicious homemade shortbread. When travelling to borders for business in future I would absolutely endeavour to stay here again.

Excellent hotel
Very friendly, welcoming and helpful staff, from the manager Chris to those working in the restaurant. Nothing seemed too much trouble, and they went out of their way to make our stay as pleasant as possible. During a three night stay we had breakfast and dinner at the hotel, and all meals were delicious and plentiful. Would reluctantly recommend this hotel, simply because we would be worried it would become too popular, and there would be no room for our return visit!
