We had a really pleasant 5 days at the Albergo Celide 7th-12thMay 2023. The hotel is small but perfectly put together. We had room 10 which was a deluxe double, the room was spacious and nicely decorated and immaculately clean, pillows and bedding was was changed daily and serviced daily, there was ample storage for a short stay and the room had a small fridge for drinks. The bathroom was fine although the shower was a little claustrophobic and dark and the humidity fan was not working so the there was a feint odour inside the shower. The room also had a safety deposit box that you could leave valuables which was easy to programme. The desk staff were all extremely welcoming and helpful no questions too small, the breakfast was a typical continental type with breads cheese cold meats cereal and patisserie’s and was very acceptable and staff very accommodating. The hotel provided free umbrellas due to the poor weather during our stay and to they also provide free bikes for using around the lovely medieval streets of Lucca. Altogether a great trip thank you.

Despite that the listing on Expedia and the hotel’s website say there is a restaurant at this hotel there isn’t one. There is one next door but it’s closed on Sundays and Mondays and you need reservations most nights. The hotel is located in a no man’s land without restaurants, grocery or convenience stores. If you are traveling by car it would be an appropriate place to stay but otherwise getting anywhere requires a long walk. Lastly, The electrical outlets don’t put out enough power to charge all devices. I wasn’t able to charge my Kindle.
