Great little hotel,
Hotel is great, room was warm and clean, bed very comfy. Bathroom was compact but clean and served it’s purpose. Breakfast was great and the staff were lovely, friendly, genuine, helpful and spoke good English. Location good, near lots of bars, shopping centre and town. Parking in republic car park was only five minutes walk and discounted by hotel. Would recommend and will go back if I ever visit Metz again.

Great stay!
The Mondon is a classic building with interesting architecture and was renovated. It is not like a modern hotel, but has style. My room was large, very calm, with great view! The service extremely helpful and friendly. The breakfast was included for me, and very good. The wifi worked flawlessly.

Fun time!
I enjoyed this hotel. It was within walking distance to a bunch of sights, restaurants and bars. I really wish the hotel had air conditioning. That would’ve made the visit much more comfortable.

Nice location and very close to train station and city centre. The room felt like it could be updated and the carpet didn't feel very nice on wet feet, it felt like it wasn't clean enough.

A very comfortable stay in Metz
The hotel is only a 10-minute walk from Metz train station and a short walk to the "old town" where you will find lots of restaurants and sights to visit. I arrived before the check-in time (3 pm) and the receptionist right away offered to store my luggage. I booked for a classic double room (15 sqm.) as I like to sleep in a larger bed. The room is of comfortable size for a short stay and nicely furnished with a double bed (queen), a desk, wardrobe including a mini-bar. The ensuite bathroom includes a bath and shower but a separate toilet. Bed is very comfortable. My room (308 I think) facing the front and has a lovely view of a fountain and beautiful old buildings. Breakfast offers a pretty good selection from breads, cereals, yoghurts , jams and cold cuts along with coffee, tea and chocolate. The breakfast room is located next to the reception desk and simply furnished but is bright with daylight and share the same great view as my room. All public areas and the room were very clean. Receptionists were not the friendliest I have met but they were efficient and helpful. There's an elevator from the reception floor to the rooms, but it's actually faster to walk up and down! And you will need to walk up the stairs from the street level to the reception area. Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and would recommend it to those who are not looking for a luxury but a cosy and clean hotel.

We really liked this hotel: nice cityscape from our window, big room - well equipped. Friendly staff. Very good breakfast. Perfect location close to the city center and the train station. If we come back to Metz, we would definitely choose this hotel again.

Awesome little place in great location!
Hahn Hotel was outstanding. Great location with easy access to the tram. The room was very clean although a bit small but that was to be expected with an older boutique style hotel in Germany. The staff was friendly and VERY helpful. Breakfast was good and there is a great Bavarian feel to the place overall. Would definitely stay here again!

Bad experience
The hotel looks dingy on the outside and inside is even worse. The smelled like dust, the carpet was clearly not vacuumed and we found an old discarded body wash bottle on the shower’s floor. The bathroom in general needs major upgrades.

Great location, gracious staff, cleanspacious room
A friend and I stayed two weekend nights in order to explore Metz, a hidden French gem. Upon arrival at the entrance we noted the “No Vacancy” sign, which remained in place both days. The hotel is located conveniently at city center, equidistant from the cathedral and vibrant shopping district and the Centre Pompidou (splendid art museum). The staff were courteous, and the breakfast just fine. The room was very spacious by French standards, with good beds and linens and up-to-date bathroom. This is an old hotel that, despite its three-star rating, lacks air conditioning in the guest rooms. A wall-mounted fan helped with the July heat, but having to keep windows open over the busy streets (hotel is on corner of a major intersection) made me grateful that I’m a sound sleeper. But the thick interior walls meant no noise from corridor or adjoining rooms, and this despite a full house of energetic tourists. Wi-fi worked well throughout the building. Street parking (payment machines at curbs) was easy to find (and municipal garage relatively close by). The price (for room and breakfast) was good value.

Cheap and cheerful
The hotel is easily accessible and located perfectly. Not to big and room was a little cramped. Staff we friendly and accoodating. Breakfast could have been a little better with a wider choice.

Centrally located, dated hotel, good breakfast
Well it is old and dated but comfortable enough for a short stay. Plusses: close to the city centre easily walkable to river, gardens, cathedral ,restaurants, beds comfortable, good continental breakfast, staff helpful and friendly, highly rated restaurant next door (book), room safe. Minuses: Not that easy to drive up to depending which direction you approach from (use your satnav!), no hotel parking but street parking around the corner (limited), bathroom facilities dated, no aircon but room fan, useless room fridge. Street Parking you need to enter your car registration number, pay for more hours in the evening then you need and they will rollover to the next morning giving you extra time in bed. Restaurants abound in Metz but one of the best according to Tripadvisor is next door - at least on a Friday you will need to book. EXCELLENT alternative at 6 Rue Gambetta opposite is Caves St Clement, primarily a wine shop but has limited menu with glasses of selected wines included If you like your wine and good simple cooking using excellent ingredients this is the place to go lunchtimes or Friday and Saturday evenings but definitely book. Easy walking through the parks to the river where you can follow various promenades, hotel reception has maps, or you take to the water in canoes or pedalos for an alternative view. Plenty of summer evening events (2018) and loads of restaurants around the cathedral area all pretty full by 19:30. Metz = a good place for a short visit

8/10 Very good

The hotel is very well located, the service is very good, the breakfast is excellent. The only drawback is that there is NO Air Condition in the room, the only thing they have is a small fan on the wall that they disconnect every time they clean the room. During the summer is impossible to be in the room for a long period of time because it is extremely hot.

One of those occasions when you wish you had known more: parking is on local streets charged after 9am. Arriving at dusk and not able to immediately park near to offload, checked in (by which time the heavens had opened and continuous heavy rain was the rest of the evening and night - not the hotel's fault admittedly). Then we learn that there is no restaurant in the immediate neighbourhood. Receptionist not very helpful, either. Room comfortable and facilities reasonable, quieter than we feared it might be. Breakfast adequate. Overall rather disappointing.
