Not a great experience
Check in was poor, was asked to pay for the room even after I showed a paid receipt this was debated for an hour by the hotel whilst trying to check in.
Room smell of smoking, bathroom freezing cold temperature. Asked for a quiet room & was allocated outside breakfast eating area.
Breakfast not great.
It's an old & dated hotel
The location was good for transport and city walking

Well this is China, so no point expecting Western type of facilities. But the room was big, very big comfy and clean beds. No tea nor coffee, no breakfast nor restaurant as described and staff didn't really speak English at all. However, great location, just 80Rmb in a cab from PEK. Aircon worked really well and it was half the price of an equivalent hotel in more expensive cities. The "blind massage" parlour next door and the posted warning from police in the room re: sex worker scams made it somewhat less family friendly! But again, you aren't paying premium prices so it's no different from other cities. I would stay again, maybe not a great spot for inexperienced travellers or children though
