Hotel is right near the train station which was convenient after a long trip to France. Had difficulty finding the exact location on Google maps but once we figured it out no issue. Easy to navigate to city center on trams.

Loved the room, had a balcony, loved our view. Didn’t mind the location (despite other reviews I was dubious) - easy work to the station.
Staff where great, enjoyed the restaurant too, wifi was super fast, and generally thought the facilities were great.
High standards throughout the hotel. I’ve marked good rather than excellent as I could hear some traffic, a side of having triple glazing I’m not really sure how the hotel could do anything about that. Would 100% stay again.

Breakfast was good but over the period we stayed, the service and availability of items; juice and cold meats (for eg), became a problem. The location of the hotel was close to the river and public transport but it isn’t the nicest part of the city and walking through these areas in the evening isn’t the best

Enjoyed our stay at the hotel. Very clean and staff are friendly and helpful.
Not the best of locations however. Bus and trams required for getting into the centre. Would not recommend walking back to the hotel late at night on your own.
Also, night club next doors runs till 6am and the noise was terrible.

Fabulous hotel. We received a warm welcome with lots of tips for what to do. Wonderful room with a view of the river - highly recommend! Plenty of bars/ restaurants and even a supermarket on the doorstep. Roof top bar is lovely on a warm night (though staff seemed hassled!)

We saw some abandoned building in nearby areas and homeless people. Staff at the front desk was very nice though, the hotel itself is new and very clean, it's just the environment not very comfortable.

Ok … wouldn’t stay again.
Hotel is in good condition and is exceptionally clean. Pillows were awful!
However, the area around the hotel is currently run down, undesirable and is in the process of being regenerated.
It is a 40 min walk into the city centre and I would certainly not advise walking to the hotel after dark from the city centre. The tram is a 10 min walk, under an underpass in an undesirable area.
The car park across the road is not well lit.

What a great way to kick off our anniversary trip with a fantastic, romantic stay at hotel 56 in Bordeaux. Close to both the Gare St Jean and the waterfront promenade it is a very convenient location for travellers. Super clean. Very quiet. Amazing staff. Everyone took great care of us and ensured our stay was a pleasant one.

Very clean and comfortable. The location is not very convenient for food, but 10 minutes from train station. We can only have dinner in the restaurant of hotel. The food is not exceptional for me personally. I had higher expectations, to be honest, especially for breakfast. Still a great hotel to stay compared with Ibis which is closer to train station but much lower quality at similar prices after adding breakfast and free cancellation. Just tiny reminder that some rooms might have a 2nd door interior linked to the neighbor room even though it’s locked, but if this bothers you, it might be worth checking before booking the rooms. Besides, it seems to me that the sound proof is not the best. We can easily hear the noise when cars passing by, but maybe it’s normal for a room with balcony.

Hotel itself is adequate and clean with comfortable bed with decent shower & nespresso coffee machine. The superior room was much smaller that expected and there are no balconies as shown in photos which is misleading. The "courtyard" view is actually just a view of the interior of 3 brick walls and windows, I found it quite claustrophobic. Apparently you need to specify room location before arrival. Hotel communication is good asking you for preferences/requirements before arrival (shame we didn't know about which room to choose re location). The area towards the station is dreadful and dodgy if walking back from tram station at night. Derelict buildings, graffiti, rubbish, loads of demolition (April 2025), drunks and druggies. Fifteen minute walk to station. Other side of hotel has some decent restaurants & Boca food hall with lots of choices of food stalls, also a small supermarket. Tram into centre is a 15 min walk followed by 10-15 min ride. Would probably stay closer to centre or tram stop next visit.
