If your looking for a quiet peaceful stay, this hotel is for you. There are little amenities and no TVs. Every morning there is guided meditation at 0730 jrs and different classes such as yoga.

I’m surprised to see this hotel described as “exceptional.” In our experience, it was average at best. While the rooms were acceptable and staff generally helpful, there were several issues.
Restaurant service was poor. On our first night, a hot drink was forgotten despite asking three times. Breakfast was consistently unreliable: although there are only four options, portions and items varied daily, things were often missing, and service was very slow.
The rooms were poorly thought out and not particularly child- or adult-friendly. In our room, rebar was protruding from the floor, which felt unsafe and unacceptable (photos attached). Cleanliness was also lacking, despite the hotel promoting a zen, yoga-friendly atmosphere.
Overall, the hotel has potential but needs better upkeep, more attention to detail, and a clearer sense of identity. For us, it was a 5/10.

I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel for so many reasons. We live it so much that 4 days later we returned to this hotel again! I also will not even consider another place when returning back to Costa Rica. Kenneth at the front desk BOTH times was so pleasant and made the experience just perfect. What an employee just added to the awesome memorable time we had ! I hope whosever reads this review truly considers this establishment as it was one of the best on all my travels around the world! Amazing stay at Alma Vida Hotel. When booking this hotel, we were skeptical as it had no reviews on Expedia but were pleasantly surprised as the hotel is in a beautiful location right outside Manuel Antonio National Park, with nice clean updated rooms that are very airy and comfortable. There is some work/renovation being done on the property, however, it never bothered us. Breakfast was delicious and the staff were very friendly and kind. I would definitely stay here again!

We were more than happy with the quality of the service, especially Kevin and Esteban whom excel at their work and even provided advises beyond the hotel surrounding. Beautiful landscape, lots of wildlife (monkeys & iguanas), air conditioned big rooms and 3 pools. Felt like a resort it’s ok that there was no TV in the room because there’s usually only Spanish speaking shows (and we don’t know that much Spanish, however having a refrigerator in the room. I missed looking for that when I booked.

Property is looking good from outside, but rooms are extremely old from inside. For example, bathroom sink, toilet or shower are very rustic and old and seem to not have been renovated since ages. Everything else is fine and beautiful within hotel premise and surrounding and views from hotel room balcony are awesome. Staff is very nice so their services are good. Free breakfast made to order is also awesome and one of the positive for the hotel.
