The only issue was the the door of our shower didn’t close properly so we always had a pool on the floor which can be a bit messy but our friends next door didn’t have that issue and I’m sure if we had brought it up to the staff they would’ve found a solution.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn Express Amsterdam-Schiphol by IHG for 2 nights in June 2026. The hotel is well-maintained and is serviced by staff with great customer service. I arrived in Amsterdam from Berlin on an early-morning flight, exhausted. Tina, working at the front desk, with her manager's approval, gave me a free early check-in because I am a long-standing IHG member, and it was my birthday that week. I received a drink voucher for declining housekeeping services during my stay, as part of the hotel's sustainability efforts. The rooms were well-cleaned and soundproof; I barely heard anything happening outside the room, despite some ongoing construction nearby. The rooms came with a free continental breakfast each day, and it was filling. The hotel is a quick 7-10-minute walk from the train station and is in a safe neighbourhood. The water pressure in the shower is perfect, and the bed is comfortable. The Wi-Fi connection in both the room and the lobby area is great. The hotel also offers the option to purchase discounted tickets online to different tourist attractions. I used the website to get a deal for a canal ride. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone looking to travel around Amsterdam on a budget but still seeking comfort and great quality.

We arrived early and was able to get the early check-in with no extra cost. Super friendly and caring staff. We were also able to get a lots of information at the front desk about where to dine, shop and how to get to the destination we are going to. They even printed out a train schedule and the fares for us. Very impressive!

Everything was great, from the breakfast to the room cleanliness. I would have given it 5 stars but the main issue that I had was that the shower drain was clogged and the water would drain very slowly prompting me to take quick one minute showers before the shower would flood and then flood out into the bathroom floor. I love taking long warm showers but I couldn't. And just one more suggestion that would have also made my overall experience even better is to have a minifridge in the room.
