    Ladies in Dubrovnik
Hotel was excellent, rooms very comfortable and clean, lots of choice for breakfast, reception very helpful and the outlook was picturesque, would recommend. Just a 20 minute bus ride into Dubrovnik, and some lovely restaurants if you walk along the promenade, had a great time

    Not a 5 star hotel
This is not a Hotel that I would recommend I don’t know how it got so many good reviews They gave us a really bad room with stained carpet to start with and then they argued about upgrading our room by wanting to charge us more The decor of the hotel itself is astonishingly bad The store in the hotel to buy small things is an absolute joke

Nice hotel, good service, location and value
Pre-booked transfer from airport with the hotel and all went smoothly. Greeted nicely upon registration and I think we were upgraded although they didn't say so. Lovely seaview from our spacious room, which had everything you need, including plenty of power sockets and complimentary robes and slippers. Breakfast was buffet style but excellent - and regularly kept topped up, with option of sitting inside or outside. didn't try and of the restaurants for dinner as we prefer to eat in town. Several pools, including heated/non heated and adults only. Ariston is part of a group of 4 interconnected hotels part of Importanne Group, and to be honest it was difficult to know where one hotel ended and another started! Pleasant 20 minutes stroll into Lapad along coastal path, and the No6 bus goes into Dubrovnik city every 15 mins or so - and you at the end (or start) of the route so no issues in getting a seat in what is always a very crowded bus. Very good value for money

We actually had a room at the Royal Palm and on arrival were upgraded to a beautiful suite with a sea view and balcony. We enjoyed every aspect of the hotel and enjoyed a swim in the pool in the Royal Princess. The hotel is a 10 minute bus ride from the old town of Dubronik. Buses are cheap and run frequently. We can highly recommend a city walk with a guide, walking the city walls (we did this at 4pm when the crowds were less and it was not so hot), cable car to the old fort, boat trip to Lokrum and also to Elaphiti Islands.

    Romantic wedding Anniversary getaway
Lovely start to the holiday with the hotel arranging first class transport from the airport. We were welcomed by courteous staff at the super spacious bright reception and given a lovely furnished and well specified (they call it "luxury") room with a large balcony and sea views to die for. The balcony was furnished with 2 sunbeds, and umbrella and 2 other chairs and a table. Within the room there was lots of wardrobe space and ample room for all our bits and pieces in the bathroom. Lovely large and comfortable double- bed and clever light switches with integrated discreet lights so they are easily seen at night. Hotel amenities were comprehensive with enough pools and eating areas for everyone. Location was great - there is a regular bus service that runs to Dubrovnik Old Town from early morning to the late hours (not free though). Or you can simply stroll for 15 minutes or so down the coastal path to Sunset Beach where there are lots of eateries. Beware some of the enticing restaurants along this coastal path, they flatter to deceive, in that one or two look swish but charge high prices for average food and wine. So check the menu first. (we can recommend Casa). We loved the hotel breakfast but just wish that the coffee was of higher quality (even the Premier Inns in UK can do it!!) Oh, and there is a cash machine in reception which is handy. Overall a lovely place, although not cheap.

2 out of 3 nights at the wrong hotel
This resort has 5 hotels in it, four of which are 5* (including Ariston) and one is 4* (Hotel Neptun). Having booked and paid for a luxury room in Ariston, I was allocated a standard room in Neptun on arrival, which is a connecting building. I realised the mistake the next day by chance, as there are no signs/insignia in Neptun to designate it as a separate hotel, unlike the others. On raising it with reception, there were no available rooms of the kind I had booked until the next day, so my booking couldn't be honoured. I therefore find it hard to believe that a genuine mistake had been made. When we eventually moved over, the difference in quality was significant. Otherwise, the resort was large and well-equipped, with various pools and restaurants. It was very busy but the rooftop pool was great for adults and generally quieter than others as there are no children allowed. The food was rather disappointing, both in the restaurants and at breakfast - it wasn't even possible to get fresh coffee. The staff were friendly and polite but the level of service isn't what you'd expect from a 5* resort.
