10/10 Exceptional

Schiff am see was a nice, comfortable hotel in Murten. Like most hotels in Switzerland, getting there and around town is a bit of “up and down” walking. The front desk staff, Stephanie and Tina were most helpful and friendly. Breakfast was good and the restaurant is available for evening meals. We had no issues with the room. We are comfortable walking stairs. Murten is an interesting town with an interesting history.

Das Hotel hat eine hervorragende Lage direkt am See und eine tolle Außenterrasse. Damit ist aber bereits das einzig positive genannt. Das Hotel ist sehr alt. Alles ist in die Jahre gekommen. Bevor man sein Zimmer erreicht, mussten wir erst 42 Stufen unser Gepäck hinauftragen. Einen Fahrstuhl oder andere Hilfsmittel gibt es nicht. Das Zimmer war eine einzige Katastrophe. Es war sehr klein, sehr warm und stickig. Es gibt keine Klimaanlage. Die Türen quietschten bei jeder Bewegung sehr laut, auch die Türen anderer Zimmer zum Flur hin. Das Bett war extrem weich, man sackte bestimmt 10cm ein. Die Zudecken und die Kopfkissen waren sehr dick, extrem weich und groß. Man hat die gesamte Nacht im eigenen Schweiß gelegen, an schlaf war wenig zu denken. Das Zimmer hatte fast keine Steckdosen. Das Bad war die Krönung, extrem klein und die Dusche musste mit einem Textil-Vorhang geschlossen werden. Dieser klebte beim duschen ständig am Körper an. Die Rezeption war nicht immer besetzt. Das Hotel hatte keinen eigenen Parkplatz, man musste an einem Parkautomaten das Ticket bezahlen, aber nur in bar, es gab keine Möglichkeit mit Kare zu zahlen. Da wir auf einer Rundreise von Spanien in Richtung Deutschland unterwegs waren und dabei 8 Hotels nutzten, war dieses das mit Abstand schlechteste Hotel auf unserer Reise. Wir können das Hotel Schiff am See leider nicht weiter empfehlen.

Alles war in Ordnung, das Hotelpersonal war sehr freundlich. Es ist ein traditionelles Hotel. Mir ist nur etwas mit dem Mädchen im Restaurant passiert, das mich bedient habe: Ich bat sie um ein Glas Wein und was sie tat, war, mich zu fragen, ob ich gekommen war, um Arbeit zu suchen. Das hat mich wirklich gestört. Ich verstehe, dass es vielleicht sein kann, dass viele Menschen aus Lateinamerika kommen und um Arbeit bitten, aber das war nicht mein Fall. Sie kann sich nicht von Stereotypen oder Vorhersagemustern mitreißen lassen. Er kann rücksichtslos sein.
