"Lovely property. You need a car if going to old Matera. Grocery store close by. Pretty grounds and great pool (although like most Italian pools, not heated.) we found easy parking lots near the historic area so it is ok. The photos are deceiving because the spa whirlpool tub is not included - you have to pay 100 euro per couple to use those amenities. That should be made clear in the listing or they shouldn't show the photos. " Cave" hotel room is fun but only a window at door and in bathroom. Very nice breakfast and nice staff."

"This is truly an exceptional experience. The staff was very communicative from the moment I booked our reservations. They helped identify and secure parking and transport directly to the hotel (a huge help when trying to move numerous bags through an old city with lots of steps and hills). When we arrived to check in we greeted so warmly it felt like we were old friends. The staff is attentive and kind and helpful. The rooms are just as special and romantic as you’d imagine when staying in such an ancient city. And the showers have awesome water pressure and really hot water! The location is ideal - lots of restaurants, shops, and endless views. The breakfast is generous and delicious. Do not miss trying the homemade cakes! Checking out was just as lovely as checking in. We were actually sad to leave and hope to visit again someday."

"Room was great. Staff did well. Overall good but a lot of the advertising is not correct. Air conditioning did not work well; there’s no onsite laundry; the bar / lounge and deli is really the front desk selling a few items. This is not a staff issue - all were great. This is a structural problem with management. "

"The staff was very helpful and attentive . The parking lot and taxi arrangements were spot on . Trust the process if you have a rental car . The spa was very relaxing and extremely clean . Samir is awesome and everywhere . He is alot stronger than he looks as he managed our large luggage up and down the steps . So are the desk managers . This hotel was an excellent location ."
