1.Airport to Stelares hotel 280paso one way (14/03/2019) 2.IMPORTANT NOTE: Before booking any excursion go to salta tourest information center they have a list of the MAXIMUM you should pay for ALL excursions. shame other Provenices in Argentina do not have this inititive. 2. Go to kiosco and buy a 40 paso bus card called SAETA card, i charged mine with 130paso each journey is about 16paso, for 16 paso i went to San Lorenzo 32paso return USD.0.78 Cents round trip 1 hour 30 mins, beautiful stream and picturesque mountians and you see local life. bus number 7A ask your hotel the stop is a side road in the center. you can also use this card to the airport bus 8A (check with hotel for busstop) cost 20 paso it drops you outside the airport just before the roundabout cross the road and your in the airport. saves you 280 paso by taxi. unfortunalty from the airport if you land after 10pm taxi is ony option. Hotel: amazing period property fantastic, clean, original fitting and fixtures pleasure to stay. staff amazing polite and friendly kind and helpful. breakfast: continental, fresh and filling Local area: Very safe in general all of Salta was very safe nothing like capital buenos aires. Local people amazing, friendly, kind, happy healthy, not like Buenos Aires, paraonide $Dollar$ crazy freaks. SALTA was the first province that i really felt i wa in REAL ORIGINAL GENUINE ARGENTINA. The kindest, safest, cleanest city i have been i have travelled north to south Salta I salute you.

IMPORTANT NOTE: Before you book any excursion in Salta go to the Tourest Inforamtion center they have a lsit of prices on the front desk the MAXIMUM ALL excursion should cost you in salta. Well done Salta shame others couldnt do this. Amazing experence to stay in a genuine period property with history, charcter and all original fittings. I read some negative reviews before my stay but after staying at the property I do not know why they would write something negative. Its 3 star hotel genuine period property they dont claim to be 4 or 5 star and for the price your pay its extrodinary. Breakfast is continentail and very good all fresh. My rooms mini bar was actually very resonablly priced slightly higher then the shops thats a plus as you know most mini bars are a total rip off. and it was well packed good range of beers and sneaks and water and soft drinks. Staff were amazing, very helpful very kind, very polite. Location is good too on the map it looks far but walk out of the hotel to the corner turn right 1 block to av Belgrano and walk down within 7 blocks you are at the center square, as you go along you see many eateries bars and cafe, even the 24 hour YPF right on the same corner of AV belgrano super well priced 1am needed a razor blade i was expecting high price, only paid 30 paso amazing, everything resnoble price. Salta in general the people of Salta are so honest and welcoming and helpful and I felt for the first time I was in the REAL ORIGINAL ARGENTINA.

A special characterful Argentinian home
The staff were so kind here. They upgraded our room to a premium. The house is so authentic and characterful. A good location. But it was the kindness and friendliness of the staff which made it so special

The staff there was amazing. We arrived in Salta at 5 or so in the morning, so when we got to our hotel we were surprised they let us check in 8 hours ahead of time. We also had good wifi, and they let us store our luggage the day we left. It had an old charm, the only negative was that the staircases were a bit small.

Unique Gem with Stellar Service
The location of this hotel, several blocks (a good walk) to the town square made us feel we might be missing out on something during our stay in Salta. But we were pleasantly surprised on arriving at Stelares Hotel Boutique. The staff was friendly and beyond accommodating, not only recommending to us great local places to eat, but even finding us a shoe repair shop (and making sure they were open and could fix our shoe quickly, so we wouldn't miss out on spending time in Salta). The Stelares was once a private home and it is tastefully decorated with antiques and artwork. Although we weren't just married, my wife & I found ourselves in the glorious "honeymoon suite" - where we felt like a royalty! You'll enjoy sitting in the common "drawing room" areas, the full breakfast each morning (with excellent strong coffee!) and - if you are there in warmer weather - I imagine the swimming pool is an added bonus! All in all, terrific value and a truly charming experience in a somewhat remote corner of the world.

Great hotel!
We were sad we only stayed at this hotel for one night!! It is beautiful, clean and the staff goes above and beyond for you. The location is great if you are looking to walk to the various plazas or even the street with all of the bars and restaurants. The breakfast was great too. We highly recommend this hotel!

6/10 Good

Moderate comfort in a bygone era
Once the home of a military officer, most of the original furniture, artifacts paintings and fittings remain. The staff are welcoming and quite helpful with directions etc., but speak very little English. We had a superior room, which overlooked the street which is quite busy even very late at night. The bedroom was spacious, the bathroom adequate with antique fittings. The shower is over the bath and it was quite difficult to get the right mix of taps to get a hot water. There is a very rudimentary aircon, but it is controlled from reception! Every time you want it on or off, you have to ring down to ask. The breakfast was very basic, though adequate, no fresh fruit, no eggs, no cheese and ham (seemingly the staples of a breakfast in this country). There is a small swimming pool, looks good, but very dirty - I don't think there is a pump and it certainly wasn't cleaned during our four night stay, very disappointing as one reason we chose this hotel was for the pool. One other down side is the fact that they seem to be short staffed and one person does everything. The front door remains locked, so when you want to go out, you have to find the staff person to unlock the door. Like wise, to get in you have to ring the bell and wait. We wouldn't stay here again as there other hotels for the same sort of money, probably better placed.
