This would have gotten higher reviews if the floors did not turn our feet black. The cleaning people walk around and pour cleaner and just swish the dirt around instead of having a mop and bucket of water they just push dirt aroundao it was diagusting! . Literally our feet were black in about 15 minutes of being in the room so we were unable to walk around room without shoes. Parking was horrendous! Only 6 or so spots at hotel and additional parking was 2 or more blocks away and the spots were so tight! Beds were comfy, location was fun and hot tub was nice after walking all day. Owner or manager was nice too. Also if you like privacy and dont want people in room everyday I suggest another place as they have to enter everyday to go on balcony to scoop water from bins under air conditioner and dump in bathroom.

First off we were told to bring our car up to the door and unload and THEN they would tell us about parking. Turns out parking is limited to 8-9 spots under the building and about 10-12 more a block away. The overflow parking was over on the BAYSIDE! My husband had to get out of the car before I parked because the spots were so small. Ridiculous. There was ONE elevator for the entire hotel. We wanted to watch the MLB game on TV one night and called down to the front desk for help with the TV and got nothing, They didn't know how to get regular cable on the tv?? The view was amazing, cleaning crew was great.

WE DIDN'T REALIZE THAT THERE WOULD BE A VOLLEYBALL TOURNAMENT DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF OUR ROOM!! THE VIEW WAS BREATHTAKING, BEING SO CLOSE TO THE LIT UP FERRIS WHEEL AT NIGHT. This hotel checked all the boxes, clean, safe, great location and affordable. The staff was friendly and helpful. There were some minor cosmetic issues but overall the room / hotel was better than expected. We lucked out and got one of the few parking spaces at the hotel and they let us check in early. We had a side room but could still see the ocean from our balcony. The walls are thin, we could hear noise from the boardwalk and the room beside us but not so bad that we couldn't sleep, I would recommend ear plugs or a noise machine if you're a light sleeper. I recommend this place and plan to stay here again.

The Ocean 1 is a no frills, older hotel in a great location. It's right on the beach and gives you a great view of the sunrise. The heater didn't work (it was still chilly out) but the staff quicky got us a space heater that worked fine. The toilet seat cover was broken and the toilet roll holder was also, but wasn't a big deal. For the price and location, it worked for us. It was clean and the room was nice. I would stay there again.
