12 Aug 2026Clean room but very dated. Great to have a kitchen but was very basic. Staff very friendly and helpful. Great location for a few days on the beach and lovely to have an outdoor pool as well as indoor. Kids loved the tennis, mini golf and croquet.

25 minutes to speak to her behind a queue and other guests joined behind us. The breakfast offering is excellent and well

17 Sept 2026Lovely check in by Bryony who even looked up where we had stayed on previous occasions and found us a great room which was appreciated. Dave who was helpful to everyone recognised us at breakfast, again great feeling . Quality Breakfast set us up for the remainder of the day.
Plenty to do in the area and on one day we went to Teignmouth on the famous scenic coastal rail journey. We usually go to Lympstone on the short rail journey and fitted this in too. Outdoor pool was open when we arrived (early) and it was warm and sunny. We've managed to stay and comfortably use the outdoor heated pool last couple if years in mid /late September
We also used the indoor pool and enjoyed the spacious grounds and short cut to and from the beach. As usual with the Devoncourt's policy you can use all facilities on last day of your stay too. Staff go out of their way to be friendly and helpful

10 Jul 2026I enjoyed my stay. The Hotel has good facilities but could do with smartening up. My room carpet was stained. The carpets in the general area’s appeared worn. The staff I met were very nice but it was obviously understaffed.

28 May 2026We had an en suite double room with kitchenette which was big and but very dated, booked room only so can’t comment on food. Room was clean and good value, use of pool and leisure facilities were included (unfortunately we didn’t have time to try it). Lovely garden, friendly helpful staff. Would stay again but probably upgrade to a sea view room next time. Great for short no frills stay.

22 Mar 2026Classic old school hotel, presentable but decor from a different era. Very clean. Gardens are stunning. Good location for seafront - about a 5 min walk. Good facilities. Very limited food options, but that might be because we stayed in March. We were very grateful for the room upgrade that we received - they didn't have to do that.

7 Jul 2026This hotel is quite old and has supports on some of the outside walls but the room and facilities are really good.
Our room was an older style but with that we had lots more space than in other hotel rooms with a large bathroom and a balcony with a sea view. Everything worked well.
Staff were very helpful and showed us the spa and even came to the outdoor pool to check we found it ok and move a sun bed in to the shade for us.
We chose to eat here even though the menu was very limited to 4/5 choices. I had lasagne and my husband pizza which were both cooked well and reasonably priced. Drinks were also reasonably priced with friendly service.
The spa facilities were great-all clean and working well and plenty of other activities such as putting, croquet, tennis and board games. Only a 5/10 minute walk through the grounds to the beach.
We enjoyed our stay so much that we wished we had booked more nights here.
The hotel was the cheapest we stayed in during our 2 week trip but probably the best overall.
