Nice ambiance, turn off the heaters
Great location, great room with nice facilities , mostly the bathroom and the tv that are well equipped. After you have to know that the rooms are on top of a 7/7 till 2/3am general dance music bar. Not just on top but more like it's the first floor of the bar, there's no sound isolation so you can feel the vibration and feel like the music is inside your room, it's part of the bar. I was ok with that as I'm working till late. But you need to know if you want some peace and quiet Ahah I just don't know why they put the heaters when the room got a good heat isolation. Will come back without a doubt till I know that I don't need to sleep before 2am or just bring earplugs

Exceptional 10.0
new union hotel
Nothing bad to say about this place, staff really friendly, basic room and in a fantastic location. The only thing to bare in mind is that there is a bar downstairs which is open late and you can hear the music quite loudly in the room. However this was not an issue for us as we were out till late anyways. My favourite thing by far was the amount of drag queens everywhere but that isn’t surprising as we were in G-A-Y village.

Our stay at the New Union Hotel
My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights and it was very disappointing. We were fully aware that it is above a nightclub and we didn’t mind but the closing times were not accurate e.g. the pub was supposed to close at 2am on Sunday but they were still blasting music until 4am, making it impossible for us to sleep, even with earplugs in. On our last night there was a super loud alarm outside our room that went off twice (and then once in the early morning) and there was no one we could contact from the hotel (the pub was closed by this time so there was no one downstairs either). I ended up having to message them on Facebook and Instagram asking them to turn off the alarm because not a single phone number worked when we tried calling. It took them so long to shut off the alarms and when we checked out in the morning they were blaming it on a patron smoking in their room - we found that a bit hard to believe. The room was sort of fine with old decaying furniture and a small bathroom. I wouldn’t recommend staying here.

Very good 8.0
Great stay at the union hotel. Very central location and very comfortable room. Only issues was a very noisy neighbour which the hotel can’t control. We needed to check out before 8am and there wasn’t anyone on site for us to return our keys to/get our key deposit back. All in all would come back as it’s fantastic value for central Manchester.

The location was perfect based within the Manchester city centre, although i stayed for two nights (Saturday & Sunday) and the music downstairs was playing loudly until 3AM , this was included in the small print of the hotel but i did not realise the extent to which it was, we could not hear our TV and struggled to get to sleep. We had no option for breakfast when we booked our stay, and when we approached staff to ask about breakfast they responded quite sharp and not very friendly. We had two people knock on our door within the time we spent at the hotel, explaining there was a leak with our shower with no explanation to why or any resolution to prevent it, made us unwelcome to have a shower whilst staying here. Very loud on the mornings also , i was woken up around 7AM both mornings with very little consideration. Only positives are the cheap price and location.
