Perfect Hotel and Onsen!
Lovely hotel with fantastic onsen! Wish we spent more than just one night here. The owner was so nice and recommended great restaurants. The rooms are basic but have everything you need. But the onsen, it was amazing! Really enjoyed that they were private and you could go with your spouse. We will definitely be back!

My whole family needs to enjoy this. Don’t this.
This quiet lovely inn has a location I enjoyed, just steps from the kanman ga fuchi path. A quiet walk in the woods past venerated statues with rushing water and huge boulders. A true forest bathing experience. The inn is a short walk to a grocery and delicious bakery with a microwave to heat up your snacks or dinner. It is right on two bus lines to go back into town and shops and workd heritage site. It was so pleasant and restful to be out of the hub- bub of town. The rooms have comfortable futons. It was my best sleep the entire time in Japan. The staff is so kind and the owner was thoughtful to drive us the short distance back to the train station. We also loved the private japanese baths. Additionally we had a western bathroom in our room but the japanese bath experience is not to be missed. We want to bring our entire family back here.

Cute bed and breakfast in Nikko!
We had a lovely stay at Akari no yado villa! Run by a father and son, whom are both very kind and helpful. He picked us up and dropped us off at the train station without charge and gave us restaurant and sight seeing suggestions. Even helped us choose which bus passes to get for the trip! The rooms are very clean but simple and no frills. 2 single beds and small bathroom. The public onsen is new and beautiful! As is the outdoor garden and dining area. Unfortunately, the kitchen was under maintence - so just double check it is fixed - as we heard they make a great breakfast. Overall, very happy to be in beautiful Nikko and at this friendly villa. Such kind hosts. Felt at home.
estuvimos solo una noche y nos gusto mucho la atención,
el desayuno mezcla de americano japonés fue una grata sorpresa,
nos llevaron a la zona de los templos y a la estacion de tren
