We stayed here for a night after our long flight to Colombo. It’s a lovely old building with a small number of rooms situated round a courtyard and pool. The staff were incredibly welcoming and had no problem serving us a delicious dinner even though we arrived quite late. Breakfast was also really nice, out on the terrace. The room was lovely - really comfortable bed and a big bathroom with nice walk-in shower. Would definitely recommend
Beautiful property. The photos don't do it justice. The service is also incredible - everyone who is at the property is so kind and goes out of their way to make sure you're happy. The room was perfect and much better than expected based on the photos. I was scared the room would be a bit dirty with the antique-looking furniture, but I was so pleasantly surprised with how clean it all was. The food was also really delicious.
Stay was amazing. Would highly recommend this as a great alternative to your inner city standard 5 star resorts
Beautiful place, excellent hospitality, delicious food. Highly recommended.
Amazing oasis in the middle of Colombo. Beautiful house with lots of character and lovely staff. The room had its own courtyard and there was a common swimming pool as well.
Beautiful property with clean spacious rooms. Staff could not do enough to make us feel welcome. We arrived 2 days after the bombings and spent much of our 2 days at the hotel due to tight security throughout Colombo. We felt very safe with a security guard on duty behind a high fence dnd locked gates. Thank you to all the staff and management for making our stay so wonderful. We will be back next year. This is truly a magnificent property.
It's a very peaceful oasis in the middle of bustling Colombo. Also located in a wealthy area of the city.
Maniumpathy is a calm and peaceful oasis in chaotic Colombo. This is definitely a boutique type hotel in an incredibly restored colonially home.
Oh my, Colombo is one hectic and gritty city we cannot say loudly enough how relieved we felt upon returning to Maniumpathy after even just a few hours out in the big smoke....it is indeed an oasis of calm and soothing to your soul. It is true as other reviewers have mentioned, that you need to get on a tuk tuk to reach other hot spots, but it is still more than worthwhile to stay here instead of a more central location that will come with copious amounts of dust, dirt and bedlam....we booked the Master suite Annapuranie, which was stunning, this suite gives you a very spacious ensuite featuring a luxury claw footed bath, heaven to lie back and soak using their beautiful amenities, then you have a separate study/snug and a private enclosed courtyard. All beautifully maintained as are the public spaces too. It really feels that you have stepped into another era of grace and harmony. The staff also make Maniumpathy a cut above the rest, smooth and slick, professional and extremely courteous. Whatever and whenever you want any service, they will oblige. Chaminda runs this boutique hotel with quiet efficiency but all the staff that looked after us so well deserve high praise too. Excellent food and reasonably priced. Just marvelous. Thank you Hotel Maniumpathy !
The main building is lovely. The bedrooms are well-appointed but actually rather cramped. The staff meet expectations but lack the charm and attentiveness to make the experience memorable. They seemed a little out of focus.
