An overnight stay on the way west. This is the only motel in 2400 miles of historic Route 66 that is still run by the family who built it. Their commitment to your comfort is as good as you'll find. A good alternative to staying in Albuquerque if that is not your ultimate destination.

I’ve stayed at the Sunset Motel twice now and both times have gone great. It’s dog-friendly, close to multiple places to eat, safer than Albuquerque (my opinion), and it has historic charm. The staff is always friendly and the check in & out process is always fast and easy.

"old" style motel with real keys. Very easy to find. No breakfast room, but you are handed a gift bag with breakfast to eat at your pleasure!! Bed was comfy, room was sparkling clean and well-furnished. Easy to recommend to those tired of cookie-cutter commercial motel chains!

Family owned business showed pride in ownership. Staff were very friendly. Room very clean and loved the “little rubber yellow ducks” you saw in office @ check in and in bathroom sitting on tub. I forgot to ask the significance, but a welcoming sight! Would stay here again!
