great trip with the family, the hotel is in a great spot close enough to everything but far enough away from the tourist area. great staff that were really helpful and friendly. There is no bar or restaurant which was a bit odd but it still worked for us.
Great location and adequately sized room for New York but the bathroom was very small.
Fairly good location. Nice reception area. No coffee facilities in the bedroom!
Great location, service was average, expect small rooms when u stay in Manhattan but the Queen superior was smaller than expected. Tiny wardrobe if u r staying for 7 days & would arguably be insufficient for a couple. However, the bed was extremely comfortable. The cellar bar looked busy & Italian restaurant Scarpetta attached to the restaurant was excellent. Didn’t try breakfast as choice of alternative better value options didn’t warrant it. In summary nice boutique hotel situated on the corner of East 29th & Madison so ask for room on 10th or 11th(only 12 floors) to reduce noise.
Hotel was very quick to move our room when we had an issue.
Great location, reasonably quiet ( for New York ) area yet convenient. The free upgraded suite was much appreciated! Plenty of space for family of four. Thank you The James. The coffee in reception on a morning and the wine and cheese hour are nice touches. Would recommend.
This is the first time we have visited New York as a family. We chose the James as it is midtown so easy to get around and see all the sights of the city. The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the nearest subway station and a few blocks from Madison Park, with the fabulous Shake Shack (a definite must visit if you're in the area!) The hotel staff were all courteous and helpful. The lobby area is great with lots of comfy seating, and even free coffee at breakfast time and free wine & cheese in the early evening. The room (with two double beds) was clean, tastefully decorated and spacious for a New York hotel room, and plenty of room for a family of four. The bathroom was a bit on the small size but it did have a bath in it (which is a bonus for some people). We would definitely visit again next time we come to the city.
Just returned from a 6-night break in New York staying at The James New York - NoMad. Situated in midtown very close to the Empire State Building, the hotel is centrally located for virtually all tourist attractions whether uptown or downtown. The hotel itself was excellent with a number of nice touches. Complimentary offerings unknown to us when we booked were coffee and fruit in the mornings and wine and cheese early evenings. You were also allowed a free non-alcoholic drink or snack from the mini bar for each night of your stay. An iced water cooler was available all day in the lobby. The corner room we reserved was exceptionally spacious with views overlooking New York. Bed linen was changed every other day and towels daily. The bathroom was large with quality toiletries. All the staff were pleasant and friendly and were on hand to assist you with any questions you had regarding NYC. All in all we had an excellent holiday. We would definitely have no hesitation in recommending The James New York - NoMad hotel as the place to stay when visiting the Big Apple.
Very efficient and friendly staff. The hotel is quirky and cool with great standard of rooms in a perfect location.
Perfect central location. Ideal for walking to Times Square. Complimentary wine for an hour each day was also a nice touch.
