My boyfriend and I stayed in the Deluxe Apartment for our holiday in Split. We chose the location because we didn’t want to have to rent a car, and being in the old town seemed like a good place to be as it’s a pedestrian-only place and you don’t need a vehicle to get to where you want to be.
Location-wise, this was great. These apartments are pretty much in the centre of everything so as soon as you walk downstairs there are restaurants and shops to visit. However, I definitely wouldn’t recommend it for very elderly holiday-makers as when we arrived we had to walk up 4 flights of steep stairs to get to the door. Some of the lights don’t work on the way up as there aren’t bulbs in some places, and the bannisters are extremely wobbly. When we first arrived and walked up the entryway, we felt concerned that the actual apartment would look different to what was advertised, but when we finally got inside it was as pictured (except it seemed smaller). The walls aren’t sound proof so if you’re planning on staying here, be aware that even though the windows do a good job of muffling the noise, being in the centre of the town means that there’s always a fair amount of noise you can hear from outside. Especially at night.
It’s also located door-to-door from a kitchen for one of the restaurants, so in the early hours you can hear them preparing for the day ahead. Overall, location-wise it was good, but I wouldn’t stay here again given the choice.
