It's tucked away from Valletta so less busy. It was comparatively less busy during the winter months which isn't a bad thing. We didn't have to wait in restaurants and cafes. There were plenty of ice cream parlours and even a cinema. It was vibrant.

St. Julian's is probably the busiest resort on Malta, and was extremely crowded with tourists, though it remains a very pleasant place. Loads of eateries of all types and price ranges, some excellent restaurants overlooking the small harbour.

Ballutta Bay is a busy area with many cool restaurants and coffee shops. Nice, small beach opposite the hotel, safe for swimming. On major bus routes for Valletta and Sliema.

St. Julian is a small compact area with limited places to visit by day around Xmas time, we walked to Sliema several times, more to do in Sliema, walk took us 30 minutes.

A lot of roadworks and construction but super convenient location as everything in all directions is less than 25 mins away. It's definitely the place to stay if you want to visit different parts of the island.

Quite a mix - anything from chic romantic restaurants to macdonalds to pumping nightclubs to "gentlemen's clubs". Depends what you want, it's all there - even if you don't want it!

"This is a beautiful hotel and staff are efficient and friendly.Pool area is good and normally plenty of sunbeds. We have been coming to this hotel for many years and look forward to our next visit. The only concern I have is that having paid to stay in an executive room there is access to the lounge. The food available seemed to be less varied than previously and once again little for vegetarians.Having at times previously eaten breakfast in the main dining area I am aware of the excellent quality of the food this is not replicated in the executive lounge"
"The staff are exceptional, always there to help. Thea from reception when above and beyond to call my car hire company for me, Sai Krishner (sorry if not spelt correctly!) even wrote the recipe for me to recreate one of his amazing dips from the club lounge. Thank you to all the Hyatt staff you were all brilliant! Rooms were lovely, sleek and modern, pool area was great to chill around. They can't do enough for you."
"Fantastic modern hotel, St Julian's is a busy and a very nice town, hotel is in a great location and all staff are very friendly. Loved the little rooftop pool and cafe, great views across Balluta Bay from our 10th floor room and balcony, super comfy king size bed, beautiful room and bathroom, separate toilet, great air-con system in the room and throughout the hotel. Top hotel, great stay :)"
"The Hotel location is great as we were able to commute every where easliy using public transport. Also the Reception team do great service. The breakfast excellant.
Overall we had a nice time."
"A really lovely hotel with friendly and caring staff. A water leak outside and into our rooms was a bit of a disappointment but the staff were excellent in dealing with the situation. Hotel overall great but decor definitely dated and sockets etc, whilst uk compatible, had no usb access etc. Restaurants generally brilliant but easy enough to go outside the complex if not to your liking. Would recommend and hope to be able to stay again. NB Malta as an island is not a cheap place to holiday. Expect London prices as a rule."
