8/10 Very good

Clean rooms, excellent service Restaurant: amazing food, Looked after in restaurant with great staff and service. Gluten free catered for. Highly recommend roast dinner, and fish and chips, large portions (female opinion) Only negative point was noise coming through older thin windows, however we had an early night due to early hike, this probably wouldnt be a problem otherwise

Superb food

The plough inn is a fantastic hotel location is beautiful but a little remote. Food was absolutely amazing and definitely worth a special trip. Rooms were a little noisy due to old nature of building. Was disappointed that towels weren’t changed for the second night as there wasn’t any way they could be dried due to temperature and wet towel was hung back up on door to be used again

Very picturesque

Lovely pub/accommodation set in picturesque countryside. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. Excellent restaurant and breakfast. Room clean and well presented. Nothing really negative to say apart from a window that rattled in our room due to the wind, but I managed to solve that. As the rooms are situated above the bar, you do get a bit of noise but it was the weekend and that is to be expected. Overall, well worth the visit.

6/10 Good

We had a lovely overnight stay here. The hotel is warm, comfortable and clean. The food was excellent and breakfast choice and food again excellent. The only negative is on arrival. We checked in but was given no information regarding breakfast, how to use coffee machine. We were promised fresh milk but we had to go remind the staff as she had forgotten. We asked her to book us into the restaurant for dinner which it seems she forgot that too. But we did get in and enjoyed it very much.

Fantastic

Warm and friendly welcome. Lovely cosy bedroom with a fantastic modern bathroom. We had drinks in the conservatory on the comfy sofas than our evening meal which was delicious. Summer menu was a good deal and the Al a carte menu had lots of delicious options to chose from. Waitresses were friendly. A delicious breakfast in the morning. The coffee was a little too strong but the waitress brought extra hot water when requested. Throughly recommended, five ⭐️

The stag were extremely welcoming, warm and friendly. The room was a very good size with a modern en-suite bathroom. The evening meal menu had a varied selection for all tastes and the quality of food was excellent, being very well cooked and presented. Breakfast was high quality local produce with a large serving. Overall we had a fantastic stay and great nights sleep with a large high quality mattress and comfortable pillows. I would not hesitate to recommend this venue and we would definitely stay again when in the area.

The Plough Inn

With so much to do and see in the Yorkshire dales, the Plough Inn is the perfect location. Very friendly and helpful staff escorting us to the room and making sure we were comfortable. Friendly bar staff providing a good selection of wines, beers and spirits at sensible prices. The restaurant menu is perfect. Simple and straightforward choice and the food is the same, just perfect.

We had a wonderful stay at the plough for three nights. Maddie and the team were wonderful. Ensuring we had a meal on arrival after a very long drive, and not thinking we would get there after the cut off time for food. Evening Food was very good, as was breakfast. Beautiful building and great location for driving around. If I wanted to be picky. Then I would say the rooms are not well sound proofed. But it is an old building. And the rooms appeared to have some damp coming through the ceiling onto the walls. Having said that it’s an old building, and nothing that prevented us having a great stay. Room was very comfortable, if a little dark. Maybe could do with an extra lamp for the ladies. But overall we had a great stay, staff were great and we will definitely return.
