Reasonable value
A basic place that is serviceable and does not promise anything more than it delivers.

Take my advice, book elsewhere.
This place is run down and disgusting. It is the worst place I have ever stayed and I paid too much. I had a function at Fort Scratchley and this was the closest. It looks good in the photos and you could book city views or ocean views. Don't do it, there are far better places in Newcastle to stay. This is embarassing for Newcastle.

The cupboard was missing tracks for the sliding door, water pipes would hammer when on. Bed was horrible, could literally feel every coil spring in the mattress, bathroom looked like it had been pulled out of tiny seventies caravan with trim coming apart. Carpets stained. Crockery and cutlery missing. For the price of the room it should have been $70 - $80 lower per night to match the quality. Staff on the phone were friendly.

Never Again
the room did not look anything like the picture on the web. kitchen contents consisted of two mugs, one beer-glass and one water glass! walls had large areas of decay and random patches of plaster; the artwork (picture) on the wall was torn; the overhead light did not work and the airconditioner was rusted. the bed was actually two single beds pushed together but they did not have the same height so there was a ridge in the middle. the ads for the hotel listed a bar and restaurant which do not exist (on phoning the number for help we were told they had been closed for TWO YEARS!) Similarly the advertised breakfast did not exist! Parking was exorbitantly priced. The promised sms pre-arrival did not give all three of the correct access codes -- we had to ring for help. help staff try hard but as English is not their first language they have difficulty there was no information of any kind in the room at all , no local facilities, no emergency details, NOTHING! This is the second time we have stayed in Newcastle where the hotel is obviously being taken over and managed by an offshore company and the information available to guests is inadequate if not misleading. In future we will stick to reputable hotel brands

Shocking property in a good location. No staff, basic rooms, noisy, uncomfortable. No hot water. It’s like staying in a vacant hotel that closed years ago. Restaurant and reception boarded up. Shocker.

Clean bed but rest sucked.
Bed and room was clean. Room had no view, toilet door did not close. Shower was awful. Neighbours complained about cockroachs everywhere. If it was a $40 a night fine. But at $160 total rip-off.

Not a great hotel stay
The best things about the hotel were the position and the views. The worst things included the Wifi not working, the elevator not working (dragged my suitcase up 3 flights of stairs), the lack of hot water in the shower, and the fire alarm going off at 3.30am (for no good reason). I doubt if I would stay again.

Possibly the worst hotel I have stayed in. EVERYTHING in the hotel is in need of replacement. There is no way they should be charging $165 per night for such poorly maintained accommodation. I will give credit that the linen was clean but..........really!
