Under expectations
First room we got had a dog smell. They switch us room on second day but we had to check out at noon and only got the second room at 3h pm. The other room was better but had a high humidity feel. There was heavy rain on day 3 and water was coming in the room from under both sliding doors. We had to put towels all over the doors to stop water from coming in. This didn’t help at all for the humidity feel in the room!! The only positive was a cool vibe at the hotel bar / restaurant. We’ll definitely not stay there again.

Was hoping to catch sight of jack but alas :( it was still great! The room was cozy and clean (very very minimal sand lol). AC felt so nice after being out in the sun. Employees were so nice and helpful. Would stay again to hopefully meet jack!

Not the best fit for me
Some areas well kept up, such as pool area. Others not so much. Hotel certainly showing its age. I don't prefer so many dogs around, sorta makes my skin crawl as I have significant allergies. Lastly, I asked for a room with one queen bed but they pressured me into one with two queens which I definitely don't prefer....

Nice stay at SurfJack
The staff were very friendly & accommodating! We enjoyed the free activities such as Aqua Zumba. We liked that environmentally friendly sunscreen was provided! The restaurant service was great. Nice balcony view of the pool! *The only issue we had was that there was a urine smell in the living room & it was on the sofa. Since this is a dog friendly hotel it could have come from a pet as well as a human. When reported to the front desk they immediately replaced the sofa cushions.

We had a wonderful time in this stylish hotel. Centrally located with a low-key lounge next to the pool. We could walk everywhere in Waikiki. Dinner and drinks in the restaurant were excellent!

What a find!
We loved the Surfjack. What a fun little hotel ticked onto a side street right off the main drag in downtown Waikiki. The rooms were comfortable and cute. We loved the live music every night, the restaurant and coffee shop onsite and the friendly front desk staff. We even got to meet the hotel mascot, Jack the bulldog, during his meet and greet. The coffee by the pool in the morning was great, too. We would definitely stay here again.

Maybe Again?
Balcony was disgusting and faced the parkade and looks like it was never cleaned but the rest of the hotel was very clean. The front desk staff was less than sub par and one guy gave a lot of attitude when questioning the billing that he made confusing and unnecessary.

Fantastic find. A beautiful boutique hotel within walking distance to Waikiki, International Marketplace and several shops and restaurants. Easy access to major roads to get you in and out of Waikiki. Great restaurant on site. Nice pool area. We will return. IHOP close by but I wouldn't bother going there. Poor service, lots of people waiting, several tables open or not cleaned with staff standing around chatting.

Fabulous hotel room. Great location. Easy parking with minimal expense of $10. Loved the pool and live music night. The performer was excellent. The room was spacious, clean and well equipped. The only improvement would be to improve the shower head. It sprayed in multiple directions.

Choose This Boutique-Local Hotel!
My stay at Surfjack Hotel was great. I choose a more boutique-local hotel rather than a chain highrise. As you enter the property you’re immersed with Hawaiian Vibes, the central pool with lots of seating surrounding lush greenery. Daily coffee from 7am-11am and a nice restaurant overlooking the pool. The front reception was very welcoming and held my bags as I arrived super early. When I returned to check in, I was upgraded to a Suite! Although this hotel isn’t brand spanking new, the room was comfortable, the balcony offered a nice table and chairs to sit outside, the bed was very comfortable and the bathroom shower had excellent pressure. Thank you Surfjack for making my stay so enjoyable.
