Great location and great food!
My wife and I were in Colombia to complete an adoption. We stayed at Casa Cristales for a week and it saved us a lot of money as opposed to staying in a hotel. We had a room with two beds and a private bathroom. The rooms were comfortable and food was excellent! Some things in the room itself did seem a little run down, but after staying at other places in Colombia I realized that was pretty typical and this place was much nicer than some of the hotels we stayed in. The house is in an upper middle class area with armed security throughout the area and there is an area with markets and restaurants about a 15 minute walk away. They have at least one staff person there all the time so they can call you a cab if you need one. Our first night there one of the staff people drove us to the market just down the street so we could get a few things and use the ATM since they do not accept credit card. They also have an excellent cook and meals were only 10.000 pesos (about $3.50 in US dollars) We always got more food than we could eat. Another bonus is this place had a washing machine. One downside is the WiFi was not super great. It worked well for our phones but our Chromebook could not connect for some reason. We will definitely stay here again the next time we visit Cali.
