Kawabata Shopping Arcade is the historic centre of commerce in Hakata, linking the Kushida Shrine and the Gion Yamakasa festival traditions to the present day. Adjacent to Hakata Riverain and Canal City Hakata, this arcade forms a vast shopping zone in the city.
