Our Chinatown Bangkok info section includes ways of getting to and around this bustling part of the city. Taking the MRT train (Blue Line) to Wat Mangkon MRT Station is one of the easiest ways to get to Chinatown. The station is around 250 metres southeast of Wat Mangkon Kamalawat, one of Bangkok’s largest Chinese Buddhist temples.
You can also get to Chinatown Bangkok by taxi or tuk-tuk, but avoid the traffic by travelling by boat (Chao Phraya River Express). Get off at the Ratchawong Pier and walk up from Ratchawong Road to Sampeng Lane and Yaowarat Road. Bangkok’s Chinatown is quite easy to explore on foot or bicycle – you’ll find plenty of hidden lanes and alleyways that are worth checking out.
