The UK has been a commercial hub for centuries, and it continues to be a great destination for shopping. London, in particular, is home to a number of great fashion houses, street markets and world-famous department stores. Edinburgh’s shopping scene is also excellent, particularly if you’re looking for souvenirs of Scotland.

The nation’s capital cities may be the main shopping destinations in the UK, but each town has its own mini hub. The most common street name in the country is “High Street” – a term that’s lent itself to an entire genre of stores. There are also plenty of massive out-of-town shopping malls, especially in the north of England, such as Meadowhall, the Trafford Centre and Liverpool ONE.
