Newport

Newport is a port city in Wales that lies at the mouth of the River Usk. During medieval times, the city was known as the country’s largest coal exporting port. Today, among the best things to do in the city include exploring intriguing historic sites built between the 12^th and 19^th centuries. You can find many landmarks in the city centre, including Newport Cathedral, Newport Castle, Newport Market, and Ye Olde Murenger House. There’s plenty to do just outside Newport as well, such as camping, wildlife watching, and hiking in the Welsh countryside.
