When we booked this we thought we had a gem for next to nothing as we found many good deals on our European trip with prices slashed due to low tourists. However the hotel isn’t as good as the photos. The building is grand and starting to show signs of needing some repair. The big issue is the huge list of rules that requires the tenant to effectively perform the cleaning for the next person. If we had known in advanced it’s unlikely we would have stayed, however during COVID with a family this was a problem. You are expected to strip the beds, take out the rubbish, clean all pots, toilets, shower, tables and surfaces, Mop and sweep the floors. This surprised us and explained that when we arrived why it felt poorly cleaned (think the people before did the basics), however the bigger issue is that they don’t provide washing up liquid, brushes or mops, luckily we were carrying surface cleaner, sponges and surface cleaner. This meant that we ended up cleaning everything when we arrived and when we left and we only stayed 2 nights.
