Staff were excellent and the location is superb. The beds are comfy but small and the bathroom even smaller - rooms need a refurb to match the rest of the hotel.

This is an older style hotel with character. The room was clean and well equipped with everything you would expect. Staff helpful and friendly. On Marion Square it is withon wLking distance to Market Street the centre of Charleston. There is also a free shuttle bus that stops opposite the hotel and wil take you 3 seperate routes which cover the Downtown area

Room looked in need of a remodel. Settle worn with torn edges, room needed repainting. Also bedroom floor hadn’t been cleaned properly, and during our stay it remained in that state. However staff were very helpful.

The hotel and it's staff were lovely. Small rooms, but it's a period hotel. My only gripe was that I appear to be allergic to their laundry detergent as any part of my body that came into contact with their bed linen got a rash. I'd stay again, but bring my own bedsheet!

We had a wonderful, luxurious stay at the Francis Marion Hotel in Charleston’s old town. The staff, from the desk staff, cleaners, porters and restaurant team, were all so friendly and helpful. Outstanding Southern hospitality. The hotel has a lovely old-world charm reminiscent of a bygone age of travel without feeling in the least faded or dated. In fact it has great modern amenities. We loved the city, and I am sure that is in part due to the warm welcome we had at the hotel. We would certainly stay here again if we revisit Charleston.

First thing that hits you is the grandure of a beautiful lobby along with a lovely light aroma of lavender. We checked in around midnight and the staff were very polite and helpful. Lovely hotel

Wonderful place and great restaurant attached in Swamp Fox. Only complaint are all I would have would be the really compact bathroom which has the toilet flush lever almost attached to the toilet seat. Just very awkward for any normal sized individual.

The hotel was lovely and we had a terrific view of the park from our room. However, if you want a quiet room you should probably request one on the back side of the hotel, not facing the park. The front of the hotel is on a busy street (loud motors, sirens, activity at the park, etc.)
